  1. Hello I am new here and hope I am posting this in the right place. My dad passed away last year. His 1931 Buick is still in my mom's garage and she is thinking of selling it. This is not a matter of money, but she has no use for the car. So this means she's not in any hurry, but if the right buyer came along, she would sell. I know she would be happiest if the car was sold directly to a collector who would treasure it as my dad did. Dad's Buick is a 1931 90 series four-door sedan. The car is running and is in good, completely original condition, with original paint and original upholstery. The front seat has a cover on it which has protected the velour. I believe the car needs some kind of minor fuel-line work but otherwise that's it. Dad would take it out on very short runs every now and then, mostly around the block. The vehicle has never been to shows. The Buick has always been garaged by Dad and by the previous two owners. The car has an eight-cylinder engine. The spare tires are on what I believe are called side-mounts (they're on the running board just ahead of the front doors), and the back has a box-like trunk that somewhat resembles a big shiny black steamer trunk. The wheels are wire mounts. Dad bought this car in the 1960s from an older gent who had bought it about ten years earlier from the first owner, a wealthy older woman who was driven by a chauffeur. None of the three owners drove the car very much and the mileage is very low. The car includes many original tools and records and even the original cut-glass vases for the back and license plates. My questions are as follows: a) How would we go about finding a realistic value on this car before selling it? What is the best way to sell this kind of car? Through classified ads? An auction? A broker? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
