  1. Yes to the plugged radiator core. With engine running see if there is substantial cross flow at the top of the radiator. If not, radiator R & R (remove and rodout). I leardned the hard way on that with my 51 and 54 Packard 327.
  2. Hello from Austin TX: The color you are asking about is called a grey--but it resembles a chalky brown. You get the proper paint from Bill Hirsch in HMN but you will have to put it in spray cans. This information is available from the Packard Automobile Classics web site after you log in. I have a mint condition spare oil pan from my '54 Cavalier 327 rebuild that I could sell you.
