  1. I got some bad and corroded wires between my generator, starter, volt. regulator and battery. Any suggestions for replacing those? Is there a company that sells pre-fab wiring for Chryslers? Or is it a matter of getting my own wiring from the hardware store and replace the corroded wires each, etc?
  2. thank you Rusty - your explanations really helped! I refilled that fluid drive yesterday. Allow me another question about two noises that I think are transmission related: 1) When the car is ideling I can hear an irregular "hissing" noise coing from underneath (the transmission area) Sounds almost like water that is dropping on a hot stone. When I press and hold the clutch down, the noise stops completly. 2)When I drive the car there is a regular clicking/ticking coming from the transmission area. It sounds like a cog wheel train. I'm from Switzerland and we got these trains that can go up mountainsides using a cog wheel system. My transmission sounds just like that, altough thankfully not as noisy. When I move the hi/low gear shift by the steering column a little back and forth that noise gets less but immediately returns when I left the gear shift go. So much for my noisy car :-) Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
  3. thank you for your fast reply! I'll look for the fluid drive tranny boards. Allow me a follow up question: I'm in the process of replacing the carpet (that's how I found all the holes in the floor) Should I ask the upholstery person to cut holes in the carpet where the openings are, or do people just roll back the carpet somewhow? How was that solved originally?
  4. My 49 Windsor has 3 floor holes to replace fluids. One oval shaped for brake fluid, one large rectangluar opening for transmission fluid and one oval shaped opening I'm not sure about. It is located on the right side of the center console of the passenger. Please see the link below for image 49 Chrysler Fluid Hole I'm thinking this might be an opening to replace Fluid Drive fluid? If I'm correct what type of fluid should I use and how much? Thank you for any reply
  5. I got a related Fluid Drive question: I got a 49 Chrylser Windsor with three floor board fluid holes: One for brake fluid, one large one for transmission fluid and the last one I'm not sure about. It is located on the left hand of the passenger side. Would that be the opening for the fluid drive fluid? Thanks for a reply
