  1. I just started a Facebook Group: Lincoholics. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5 ... 644&ref=mf Post your photos! If you are not a member of Facebook do it now, it's easy. facebook.com You can become my Facebook friend: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id= ... ef=profile
  2. Dumb question: Is there a right and left hood hinge? My hinges appear to be mint but don't fit. I don't know if they're tweaked or what. Any ideas?
  3. Hi Tom, Sorry, I haven't checked the board for a while. YES, I would really like the manual. Does it have specs, drawings, etc.?
  4. Anybody know where I can buy a reprint or original 40 or 41 Zephyr shop manual and body manual? Trying to fit a body to a frame and build this car from a sorry start. Need as much info as possible. Thanks.
  5. If the frame itself is strong enough and I am planning on a custom, wouldn't I be better off trying to rescue what I've got? My plan was to use a four-link rear suspension and try to use the Camero front clip already in it. Is the S-10 route STILL a better option and why? As far as we know at this point the frame is OK. Is the S-10 chassis close to the Zephyr in wheelbase etc? Does anyone know what the correct wheelbase for the Zephyr is? Anybody got a salvaged floorpan? Thanks
  6. Forgot to mention that I have a PRIMO hood, decklid, both doors, all fenders, skirts, complete nose and tail pan and dash ready to install. The rot of course is all in the bottom 3 inches in the body. Does that change anyones opinion?
  7. MIke, If I WAS'T trying to restore it to stock, what do you see with the frame that's a deal killer? What kind of height, options, advantages, etc would an S10 give me, or were you being facetious ? Thanks for your input. BTW, I am married no I am not allowed to kiss anybody else. PS: this body has already been off its frame so the idea of separating the body and frame is somewhat moot.
  8. I have a 41 Zephyr 3W at a local builder (Norm at Vintage Metal in Yucaipa) that's in pretty sad shap. See photos: First, does anyone know the proper wheelbase for this car? Right now the makshift floorpan is pretty much holding the body off the frame and not straight either. The body needs to come off the frame so the frame and body can be assesed as needed. I plan to make a large wooden dolly to hold the body. Then reposition it correctly and fix the frame. Currently it has a Camero front clip which is in unknown condition. There is a LOT of cancer in the body to cure. Fortunately I have purchased a great deal of the bold/weld-on body parts, see photos, but still much to fabricate and repair. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I probably can't afford all the parts to make it a stock Zephyr but maybe in time. Currently the plan is a custom. I bought the car on the advice of a HAMBer from another HAMBer but I suspect (hope) neither knew the extent of the bad condition. Is a floor pan available reasonably for this car? Is a chassis interchangeable from another car? Is suspension parts interchangeable? Maybe I can find a junker and just swap? I have purchase the majority of parts form Merv Adkins but I really need more affordable parts. Please help if you can. Thanks Zoot

  10. So, anybody know the number of 41 Zephyr 3 window coupes produced?
  11. Hey Jim and Rolf, I got my car today and went over it with a builder/fabricator. Tomorrow we'll take the body off the frame. He say's he can fix the rear fenders but recommends I get the piece between the front fenders and the piece between the rear fenders (Is that called the roll pan?) anyway, the part that has the lip that the deck lid closes onto. Need the lower 5 inches or so of all these parts. Would also love to get a pair of doors as long as they're in my budget (VERY small budget here) Please pm me, both of you, asap. I want to get my guy these parts and get him going! Thanks for all your help. Zoot
  12. Cool, so this board isn't strictly die-hard, restorers; there's a little room for modifications. I am glad to hear that because I like the idea of a modern four-link rear suspension and a crate engine. But that's all way down the road. I pick the car up Saturday and find out what I really bought. I hope there's not too much metal to replace as my budget is small and shrinking. I'd be happy just to get the body straight and solid and wait on the rest. Still need some parts: Rear fenders and skirts, The lower half of the part that goes between the two front fenders, same with the area between the rear fenders. Grills. Window glass, etc. etc. There is a fabricator/builder very near me in Yucaipa who'll assess the car Saturday so I am hopeful. Thanks again. Your car looks awesome but I couldn't tell from the photos that is was a 5-window, club coupe. I love the coupes, especially the 3-window more than any other body style I can think of. Those lines are classic to the 9th degree.
  13. Yeah, that's my car...a 3-window Zephyr coupe. So, more than 850 made? Your son's car looks fantastic. It might take me another 20 years (I'll be 71 then) but that's my goal. Oh, I didn't understand your abbreviations; what drive train does your son's car have?
  14. Thanks so much. 850; wow. I wonder how many survive. BTW, the 41 that I bought is as close to unrestorable as a car can get. It's just a body with the front clip from a Camaro and tons of rust and rot to repair. I just love that body style so much and could not afford a more complete car. I have some of the trim but far from all. Probably have to finish putting a modern drive train into it and be happy with that. I know "customs" are frowned upon but I can't imagine I am going to find all the parts to restore it to stock. One thing though, I will definitely NOT chop it. I would just like to make it a driver. OK, blast away.
  15. I have searched the threads here but cannot find one discussing the number of 41 coupes produced. Does anyone have info on this? Thanks
  16. Thanks much. Saw some on Ebay and thought I'd found em. Anybody have any? I know I can get them from Merv if need be. Thanks
