Hi Phil,
I have a similar problem on my 55 super. The channel is sliding away from the glass and the arm with the round bearing(?). If you push the channel away from the right side where the window handle is, maybe it will stop jamming. If you have problems, pull the glass up to see if this will loosen and release.
Good luck - hope this helps!
P.S. I've attached some pics

Thank you Pete for the warning. The wiper switch shaft is very thin but didn't break.
Now I'm ready to prime and paint.
Thank you,
George

Thank you Mr. Earl. The wiper switch did come out and I'm thrilled!
At the car show and swap meets, I have been looking for the Fisher Body Service Manual - with no luck. I'm going to one this Sunday - hopefully I will find one.
By the way, I love those Buick songs from the 50s.
Thanks again,
George

Hi Willie,
It worked like a charm! The ignition lock is out. So again, there's only one thing left on the dashboard - the wiper switch.
Thanks again,
George

Hi Mr. Earl,
I really like the idea of everything being chrome - I just love chrome. I might go that way. Thank you!

Hi Pete,
Thank you for the advice for the light control switch. It came off like a breeze!!!
I'm still having trouble with the wiper switch. I cannot see any screws or anything from behind.
Thanks a million,
George

Can anyone out there help with the following challenges I'm facing:
1) Headlight switch - how to remove it from the dashboard?
2) Windshield wiper vacuum switch - how to remove it from the dashboard?
3) Ignition lock - again, how to remove it from the dashboard?
Another thing - the radio speaker screen, are the slots only painted or is the whole thing chrome?
The heater and defroster controls - are they chrome or painted?
Thanks so much in advance for any help at all.
Please see photos.

Hi Sid,
I have a 55 Super and the heat motor turns counter clockwise. Mine was stiff and turning by hand very hard. I took the motor apart and the shaft was rusty, I sanded it with a 400 grid sandpaper - the top and the bottom of the shaft and put it together and it works good. I have some measurements and pictures. I hope this will help.

Ben. Check this out.

Thanks Ben. I’ve been very busy. As far as I can tell, according to the 1955 Buick brochure, the fenders look the same.
