My transmission started leaking fluid a couple of weeks ago and it was diagnosed as a leaking side pan gasket. One shop told me they needed to take the tranny out to change it and recommended resealing the whole thing for 700.oo + tax. Another place told me they might be able to replace the side pan gasket without taking the tranny out. my 1990 reatta has 103,000 miles on it. It shifts fine when the fluid is filled to specs. Does the tranny have to come out to fix the side pan gasket? Is 700. fair for reseal? If the side pan gasket is the only one leaking should I do a whole reseal? Thank you ahead of time your advice is always very helpful Brandon
