  1. I promise the problem with water quality is the least of your concerns. People have been known to pee in the coolant system as a last resort. I think worrying about water quality might cause analysis paralysis. Man you seem to take as many steps as you can to take care of your auto. Dont worry, if something is wrong with your auto it is NOT because of you not doing a good job. Cars break...thats just part of it & also what makes them so special to us. When we spend the time fixing em up and hearing em run again (its like bringing them back from the dead); it creates a bond with your car that others will NEVER understand. Its what makes us "carguys" seem insane to everyone else. Change your head gasket and it will fix your problem probably (statistically speaking). They just get old after a while. Its easy to do...First go to beer store...next call friends & let them know you got a cooler full of beer in the garage...it will fix itself from there. good luck chris ps does she (your car) have a name yet?
  2. Bet the head gasket is bad bw cyl 1 & 2. You gotta think about how the pressure was fine then all of a sudden pressure is down in 3 of them. I doubt the rings in 3 dif't cylinders went bad at the same time. How old is the head gasket in there anyways? What are the head bolts torque readings? Are they the same all the way around or are the ones near the firewall at a lower torque? I wouldnt be spending a lot of time on your radiator just because of the change in cyl pressure. Good Luck! Trial & Error will eventually get it fixed every time! chris
  3. Hi Im wondering if anyone knows where i can get the demensions for the dift 32 buicks to see which one this trunk goes to. I believe it goes to a buick or caddy. Any info from anyone would be greatly appreciated. it is 46" wide, 21" tall & 15-17" deep. Any idea what it might be worth?
  4. Hi guys, I think this goes to a fisher style cadillac; but would really like to know for sure and which make & model. I have looked all over the internet. Im thinking it is after 29 and before 34 bc of how low the curves are on the side (where fenders would meet). Its dimensions are 46" wide; 21 tall; and 15-17 deep. It says basco on key cover. If anyone knows where i can go on the internet to get the dimensions of the dift models to see which might be a perfect fit for this fitted trunk or if you know which model it goes to I would very much appreciate it. Thank You for ANY info or ideas you have on this. chris
  5. Hi guys, I was told that this trunk might go to a franklin. Ive been having a heck of a time tracking down the make & model this trunk went to. It is 46" wide...21" tall...and 15-17" deep. It has a Basco lock. Any info you have on this would be GREATLY appreciated. First we thought it might go to a packard but now was told it might go to a chrysler or franklin (what do you think it goes to?). It is listed in what is this also. Please help; this thing really is starting to drive me crazy! Thank You, chris

  7. I was told this might be a chrysler trunk. Any help identifying make & model would be greatly appreciated. 46" wide; 21 tall; and 15-17 deep. It says basco on key cover. Thank You for ANY info or ideas you have on this.
  8. Thanks Owen! The best i can figure (if my maths right) is that the inside the fender width is 43.6 inches on the super 8 club sedan. The trunk at its lowest width is a tiny bit over 45". This 45 & 1/4" measurement is the curved inward groove (2nd pic down of back of trunk). So I dont think its for the packard super 8 club. Im starting to think you might be right about it being an earlier model. What do you think? Were the phaetans or limos wider in trunk area? PS Is there a support group for people who have become obsessed/addicted to identifying a car part. The first step is me admitting i have a problem. (I can quit looking for this part anytime I want)

  10. You guys got me going in the right direction I think. The curves on the side are lower than the 1934 (i think). I saw a picture of a 1929 Dietrich that looked like the same size curves on the back. Any one out there have a 1929 that knows the measurements of the rear fender heights & width where a trunk would go? What do you guys think? Am i on the right track still. The back of the 29 fenders looked smaller to me (or am i wrong...wouldnt be the first time:) thanks, chris
  11. Thank You VERY MUCH Earl! You've no idea how much it helps! Ive been looking for days on the internet and didnt have much luck at all! My roommate thought i was going insane all the time I've spent trying to find out about this thing. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief! This thing did almost turn me crazy! Thanks again, chris
  12. Thank you very much Earl and guys. It is definately a place to start. I bought it at a garage sale to use as a toy box for niece & nephews then saw what they were going for on ebay (box ones) but didnt see any metal ones. Im starting to think it might go to a 32 packard. Any ideas on a good site that has the exact demensions of a 32 packard (like a blueprint for cars)? Thanks again so much! chris
  13. Does anyone know if this is a 30's packard trunk? 46" wide; 21 tall; and 15-17 deep. I think it says basco on key cover. Thank You for ANY info or ideas you have on this. chris PS I have listed in "what is it" also. Might be a packard part so thought i would ask you guys also.
  14. Any ideas on what this trunk goes to? Dimensions are 46" wide; 21" tall; and 15-17" deep. Thank you for your help. Ive reposted with smaller pics. (i hope they fit better) chris
