  1. Thanks for the info. It pretty much confirms what I thought. The adjustment was actually part of the problem, being too tight and causing the steering to not "correct" itself. With that problem solved, the steering is still pretty loose and I believe a new box will be in order. Thanks again.
  2. I have a 1966 F85 with power steering. EVERYTHING has been replaced up front except the steering box (original to the best of my knowledge). While the car handles great and drives straight, it demands your constant attention to keep it from wandering. Is this due to a 40 year old steering box? It's pretty much the only thing left. I've tighted the adjustment on it about as far as it can go. Could it just be the rag joint? I'm fully prepared to swap out the steering box but just want to make sure before I do that. Also any advice on switching out the steering box - fast ratio compared to factory replacement. I plan to drive the car a lot and of course looking for that perfect balance of performance and comfort. Thanks for any help.
