  1. I should join the OCA anyway, don't believe that I've heard of the NAOC before. That, or once again my memory fails me. I've owned one Oldsmobile since 1998 (my boot camp graduation present to myself), with many others coming and going between then and now. The fella I purchased the car from was a member and was kind enough to give me some old copies of JWO. It's just one of those things that I have kept sluffing off. Currently I have 5, that I like pretty well and only one that I would sell on a whim. Anyway, that probably is my best chance at gaining an expert's guidance, with one of, or both of the clubs. With the newest addition of the '34, I now own my dream car and would love to make it legal. Kinda sounds like a Romeo and Juliet tragedy right now. Hopefully I can get it all squared away. Thanks for the note Glenn, Carl
  2. I have just purchased a 1934 L 407 business coupe. Went to the DMV thinking, hoping, that they would have the correct literature to find the vin number. The only information I can find is that there was a plate under the floormat on the passenger side of the cabin. The officer only had information back to '36 for Olds and '01 for Chevy. She decifered from her information that the engine was stamped with an identification number, if I am recalling correctly, L 40II4. She then proceeds to tell me, believing that the engine number and vin are to be the same, that I don't have legal papers for ownership of the vehicle because the title and engine numbers don't match. I am very new to these vehicles, but from what I gather the engine had a unique number from the vin. Soooo, I would be very appreciative if someone knowledgable about these particular cars would tell me where to look for the vin. The frame is quite rusted/scaled and there is no floor in the body, specific locations for redundant vin stampings, if any, would be greatly helpful.
  3. pm sent to you Oldsobsolete, Thank you, Carl
  4. Still want a car folks, looking for a seller that has one and is willing to let the project go to a new owner. All cars considered, as far as completeness, but still looking for that elusive two-door coupe. I would even consider trading up or down for one of my A body cars, but would only do that for the right car. Again, any leads are greatly appreciated. I know that these cars are far and few between, but I'm still holding out hope for my "dream" vehicle. Thank you, Carl
  5. bttt.....someone just bought a '30 in ID, from an hmn ad. two weeks ago. still looking, anyone have a lead?
  6. we'll widen the search, F or L series coupe

  8. Interested in your offer Charles, need more nailed down info. Sorry the reply took a bit. Don't get on but once every month or so. Let me know you still have it and I'll give you a hollar on the phone. Carl
  9. Never mind, just saw the description, it didn't load on the first trip to the page.
  10. I'm interested, need more details though. I'm not looking for a show car, just something that is mostly complete. Also not looking to brake the bank. Search for my wtb ad. to give you an idea of what i'm looking for.
  11. Still looking for the right car. 2 door coupe, not interested in the sedans, or 4 door models. I would prefer a trunk and not the rumble seat also. Again, any leads greatly appreciated. Thank you, Carl
  12. bumpers front and rear '72 convt. (no cut-outs), sheet metal any '72 hardtop, hood '72 with the horizontal cowl vents stamped into the rear of the hood (not the vertical louvre cut outs), '70 supreme grills, any guages (tic-toc-tach), and '72 4 speed shifter handle, knob, and linkage. Thanks in advance, Carl
  13. Looking for a 1928-1934 F series coupe. Will consider anything, though I'm looking for a project. In a perfect world, it would be a sport or business coupe. No show winners or "perfect" cars, as the budget is not geared toward owning such a vehicle. I'll take one with or with out bullet holes, parts all there or some missing, I'm pretty much open for any leads. Again, the perfect car would be just sitting there, most all parts with the body, etc. the nitty gritty of it is it needs to have factory ID tags and a title would be very, very nice. At the bare minimum a shell, hood assembly and grill assembly. Of course, The budget, I'm looking for a car that is less than 10,000.00. The offering price would obviously be reduced accordingly, dependent upon condition and completeness. Again, any condition will be considered and would prefer the stereo-typical field car. surface rust, rats nests, but mostly all there and has just been sitting for a while. Any way, thank you for the time you spent reading my request, Carl
