  1. At least six vehicles were damaged Saturday morning at the Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet when a truck and trailer lost control and slid down an incline. Despite large crowds at the show, witnesses say that no one was injured in the incident. The accident happened at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Car Corral area. 2. Just when you thought all the great cars had been found, another set of doors open to reveal an amazing collection of heavy metal. Trust us, this isn't another "too-good-to-be-true" tale of vintage metal found in a Portuguese Barn. This one is the real deal. A lucky guy out in Maryland stumbled upon the find of a lifetime tucked away in a barn that includes twenty-five "forgotten" cars. Nestled among the dusty automotive relics was a heap of vintage metal ranging from a 1903 steam-powered Locomobile runabout to a 1954 Packard Clipper. This incredible find is every collector's dream and also included a beautiful 1937 Packard Twelve, a 1931 Renault town car and a 1912 Pierce. All we can say is that we wish that we'd been the ones to find them! You can check out the photos and videos at: www.oldcarsweekly.com
  3. Over the past few months the automotive message boards have been buzzing and e-mails have been flying across the Internet spreading the heart-warming tale of a New Yorker’s amazing automotive find in the hills of Portugal. Did this guy really find nearly 200 dust-covered classics sitting in a barn? You can read the whole story at: www.oldcarsweekly.com www.oldcarsweekly.com
  4. The Swap Meet vendors started pouring in to Iola yesterday and the show is gearing up to be another good one this year. I have a few photos of the swap meet set up posted at www.oldcarsweekly.com www.oldcarsweekly.com
  5. Billed as the “Sale of the Century,” the upcoming Pebble Beach auction of what is possibly the world’s oldest running car, an 1884 four-wheeled De Dion-Bouton et Trepardoux, is already sparking worldwide interest. Check out the entire story at www.oldcarsweekly.com www.oldcarsweekly.com
  6. Has anyone been following this event? It seems pretty interesting. Apparently they buried a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere in front of the courthouse in downtown Tulsa 50 years ago and will dig it up this summer. Back then, residents were invited to guess the population of Tulsa in 2007 and whoever was closest wins the car and the items that were placed in the car. However, the entries were put on microfilm and were placed in the vault with the car. Nobody is exactly sure what they will fine when they unearth the car. Old Cars Weekly magazine has some great info about this event on their website at: www.oldcarsweekly.com . Just click on the Tulsarama button on top of the page. Old Cars Weekly
