  1. As Barney said, it is a plastic piece that is broken. The same thing happened to me about five years ago. I managed to get the piece out, a little difficut because you can't see the piece at all. It was all done by feel. All I needed was a philips head screw driver and a whole lot of patience. Once I got the piece out, I gave it to a friend who owned a machine shop. He drilled a hole through the plastic piece. inserted a rod. and covered the break with a, what he called, a stronger than steel apoxie, . As I said, it has been five years, and so far, so good. I'm pretty sure that my piece broke because my car was not on level ground when I was trying to get the tonneau in the up right position. I tried to force it and the plastic piece broke in two. It states in the owners manual to make sure the car is on level ground when raising or lowering the tonneau. I have been very carefull since. Good luck, Frank
  2. I found a small company in Fla. run buy Barbara Savino and her husband. She made me three baseball style hats and two short sleeve shirts. Two of the hats had REATTA written across the front and the other hat had the sunburst logo in the front. The two shirts had REATTA written on the left side. I was very pleased with the work and the quality of the merchandise. She matched the color of the shirts with the color of my car, white and tan. She responds immediatly to e-mail and she is as helpful as can be. On a scale of one to ten, I give them a twelve. Check out the web-site at special additions.com. If you decide to use them I am sure you will be very pleased.
  3. I have noticed in the past couple of years, that every time it rains, water get behind the rear plastic lense that surrounds the brake lights. I know water leaks can be tricky. Anybody had this problem and found a solution?
  4. Two years ago I converted from the R12 to R134. First summer it worked fine. Half way through second summer, no cool air. Took car back to shop. He tested and found no leaks. He said that because I put my car in storage for the winter, it could cause the O ring to contract, causing the 134 to leak out. He also said that I may have to do this every year. The original conversion cost $160.00. The refill was $110.00. What I would like to know is, once converted, is it possible to go back to the R12? In posts I have read since joining the forum, The R12 is still available if you look hard enough.
  5. I have been reading where quite a few members have trouble with radiator temps running on the hot side. Has any one ever used, or heard of a product called, Interdynamics "Motor Cool" cooling system additive? Any pros or cons? Frank
