if its a fluid drive car, disconnect the two extra wires going to the coil to the trans electronics, theres a chance they might have shorted in the loom. This is how i resurrected my '49. If it starts you know what you need to do...

C'mon people, i know a lot of you have done this before, share some info please!

I an attempting to put on the stainless trim that wraps around the lower roofline and doors of my 49 Windsor. I have all the old clips, but im not sure how they are oriented on the car. Also need to know the procedure on installing the clips and trim.

I am trying to put in my windshield on my 49. I have new weatherstrip and i just got my car back from the paint shop so its been a while since i took out the windshield originally. I need to know the order and process to get it back in. There is the trim, 2 glass panes and the middle piece.

Out of curiosity can you explain the differences between the torque converter and the fluid coupling? Up until now i always thought they were one in the same as far as principle and operation.

im replacing the weatherstripping on my 49 and its on there pretty good and is coming off in pieces with a lot still stuck to the body, i can scrape at it but im trying to have the least amount of damage done to the paint underneath, is there a product that will absorb the adhesive or old weatherstripping?

That is a beautiful car, sure its not cuda but with that low miles and all original the right person wouldnt even blink to give you at least $6000, advertize it in Hemmings or the likes, you'll get some bites. I'd ask for the $10000 and see what the best offer is.

Can someone tell me some part numbers and manufacturers of an oil filter for this car?

I am looking for some rust repair parts for my 49 Windsor. What i'm looking for are sections for the lower rear under the tailights above the bumper, possibly some floor pan sections, and the bolt on floor part that contains the pedals. Also i'm looking for some ready to install seat covers (front and rear) Anyone know of a supplier?
