  1. Have a 1931 Model A. Am trying to replace the stop (brake) light switch. I have two replacements with same problem. One came from Snyder's and the other from Bratton's. Both seem to hit with the switch's rod just below the piece on the brake linkage and so the switch never turns off the light. The original (which is broken internally) does not have the same problem. Snyder's told me to bend the rod from the brake linkage to solve the problem but i am afraid of breaking the rod. Bratton's told me to "gently bend" the switch while bolted to the crossmember. It bends left & right but not up and down. Being i had two switches i used a round file to open up the bolt holes on one switch. This makes it better but not exactly perfect but might work. Would like to know if anyone else has had this problem???? Does anyone have any other ideas? Bratton told me that most A's have the bolts horizontal (which would allow bending in the right direction, maybe) while mine is vertical. Can anyone verify this info also? Thanks for the help
