  2. where might I find the glass and how much do you think that would be? Thank you, Kevin
  3. I actually need the inside mirror, not the side mirror. Thanks anyway
  4. 72 cutlass supreme conv. I can't seem to get the top boot cover on with the top down. It doesn't look like the top is going down far enough for the boot to fit. Is there a trick to this? The car has a glass rear window, if that helps. Thank you, Kevin
  5. I am looking for a rearview mirror for a 72 cutlass supreme conv. I also need the retaining clip and all hardware. I am located in Wisconsin. Thank you, Kevin
  6. so i did what you said but when I adjusted the coil to get the choke to close, the car started but smoked and sounded really rough. It wouldn't idle either. I loosened the coil so the choke was open and the car ran fine. Is there a trick to this that I am missing?
  7. 72 cutlass supreme conv. 350 4-barrel I turn the car on, pump the pedal once, and the choke doesn't close. It will start but without the help of the choke. It does have power on the red wire attached to the choke, but I'm not sure if the power is supposed to hold the choke open or closed. Any help fixing this would be great. Thanks, Kevin
  8. Thanks for the help. I spliced in a peice of cable right by the gas pedal and it worked great.
  9. The cable is frayed and broken right at the end, by the gas pedal. How can I tell what trans is in the car?
  10. I always have been the one to learn things the hard way. That's my trusting nature getting me into trouble.
  11. Car is a 1972 cutlass supreme convertible, orig. engine was a 350 2-barrel, now has a 455 4-barrel. automatic trans. The gas pedal has 2 cables connected to it, one is broken. It drives with the one cable just fine. I traced the second cable (the broken one), it goes near the destributor, then I can't tell where it goes after it goes down behind the motor on the passenger side. What is this cable for and how can I fix it? It is broken right at the gas pedal. Thanks
  12. I found out I could go through E-Bay to resolve the issue, as well as the Federal Trade Comission, but I really wanted to work this out with the seller if possible. What I really would like to know is how you would handle it, what would you say? Keep in mind that the price difference between the two is around $6,000. Now I don't want that much back, what do you think would be fair? thank you
  13. the serial number does not determine whether the car is a 442 or not on the 72 models.
  14. I did purchase it off of E-Bay. I still want to keep the car, I just was misled.
  15. I recently purchased a 1972 olds cutlass supreme convertible with the 442 trim package. The seller advertized it as a real 442 but I have come to find out that it did not come from the factory like that. I paid for a 442, not a cutlass supreme. I would like to be compensated for the difference between the two, which, according to my research, is a substantial amount of money. What should I do? I live in Wisconsin, if that helps in answering my question. Thank you
