THIS IS DEFINITELY A 40 PLYMOUTH.A 40 DESOTO HAS SIMILAR LINES ON THE FENDER BUT THE REAR FENDER ON THE DESOTO IS BANANA SHAPED AND COMES TO A CLOSED POINT ON THE FRONT EDGE.THE 40 PLYMOUTH IS OPEN ON THE FRONT AND IS LOCATED LOWER AND RUNS INTO THE TOP OF THE WHEEL LIP.

Mopar383 is correct.There was one in a yard close to me that I considered buying but didn't.The owner of the yard died last year and his son crushed it along with thousands of others.Included were over 100 convertibles as far back as 1941(buick or pontiac).Any way,I did manage to get a lot of parts from the N.yorker including the vin no.

Hello, Do you have a picture of the door handles?I have a bunch that sound similar but aren't marked.

nos stainless piece-wrapper was junk.Piece is 48"long,1 1/2" wide and obviously a door piece.Comes to ridge in the middle,equal sides from the ridge.
