  1. Just so you don't think I'm an imposter, I do have a Reatta but I'm looking for a good site for info on the Pontiac Fieros. A good friend of mine just bought one and is looking for help on info and upgrades. If anyone knows of a really good forum (nothing can match this one) that he can get on, I would really appreciate any links.

    Thanks

    Kevin!

  2. OK, I finally got it. It was the ignition module and the coil pack. Thank you all for your input, I know it's hard to diagnose a problem over the net but I appreciate all of your efforts.

    Thanks

    Kevin!

  3. Well, for future reference, the cat is welded on. I cut off the old one and can't find anywhere that has the direct fit cat so I'm gonna try the universal one. If this doesn't do it maybe the muffler is clogged so I'll try to blow that out with the air hose. Now, if that isn't the problem and I just wasted all this time and money on the cat, can anyone think of why it would shake so bad and have no power? Gas pedal floored for a block and I got up to 30MPH.

  4. OK guys, I got in the car and it started up. I am now sure it's not the battery or anything electrical. Now it seems to be running rather roughly and I have a rattle coming from under the car. There is also this weird smell. I think it could be my Catalytic converter. Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to change this on a reatta? Do I need to weld anything or is it a bolt on?

  5. The service engine light comes on, yes. I have to leave for work now but I'll check the diagnostics when I get off tonight. The motor isn't turning over and tomorrow I'm going to pull a fuel line and see if it is getting gas, if not I suppose pulling the valve cover and checking the cam is my next step unless there's something else I should check first. Thanks

  6. I was told by my brother-in-law (a mechanic of 20 years) that when buying a car this old with 113K miles I should probably flush the fuel system. He suggested that I grab a can of BG 44K ($23) and add it to at least a half tank. WOW! The best $23 I've spent on this car so far. Not only is my fuel economy better, but the increase in power is amazing. It helped restore lost power and lost gas mileage in a single tank. Just a thought for any of you who have not heard of or tried this yet.

P.S. You can get it at NAPA. PepBoys, Checker, and Autozone do not carry it.

  7. I was browsing through some reatta sites and found these pics from the 4th Annual Reatta Rendezvous and Buick Centennial Celebration July in Flint, Michigan and I need to know what this car is. Is it the Reatta of the future? Has anyone else asked GM/Buick if they are gonna remake the Reatta for it's 20th Anniversary or if there are any plans to do so in the future? Any info would be great. Thanks.

  8. I am 30, male, from Denver. Got my Black/Saddle 89 Reatta in April of this year. I have wanted to get one since about 94 when I first noticed them. Something was always preventing me from getting one, either already having a car and not being able to get another or just not having the money to get one. They used to be very hard to find here but since I bought mine I have seen at least 4 for sale here. About the only thing I need to replace is the alternator, not bad for 112K miles <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.
