Hello all, I'm fairly new here and remember being told by someone here that my CRT problem (works touch but visual is intermittent - it'll be on then off and come on again for a while while driving) might be the result of having the compartment repeatedly flooded from a sunroof leak. The d&mn dealer kept telling me water was coming in from under the car. Something about wires running under driver seat that may have pitted or rusted. Haven't checked yet as I am not in good enough shape to remove seat etc. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar case and also whether this could have affected speaker wires or connections under there as well. Speakers are very staticky and sometimes volume is lost (can hardly hear radio at all). A lot of interior things were moist from condensation including tape player (beads of water on playing heads etc.) I have had my 1988 Red/gray for sale but am now thinking of fixing her up and keeping it. Bought a new SLK350 (red also) but don't really like it - too small and no storage space - can't even carry golf clubs. It's in my driveway and when I'm out here smoking my cigars people passing by tell me what a 'hot' car it is. Mostly the younger generation. Why should I get rid of a great running 'hot' car, right? I have a red 88, number 168 off the line and it has a sun roof from the factory. I know - I'm the original owner. It has no suede in the leather though. Strange?? John jrm1@optonline.net

Can anyone give me an idea what my 1988 Reatta is worth? I am thinking about selling thru paper and have no idea what to ask. This car is #168 of about 3000 made that year (according to what the Buick rep told me) and has every option available at the time. It's red with a gray interior. Body is perfect - never hit or touched in any way. 70,000 miles. I'm original owner. Some minor things need attention. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure to ask for? 1988 Reatta - Red; Sun Roof; every option available at time. It needs someone with time to get it into best shape. Roof replaced by Buick in 1990 and it leaked. Water on floor disturbed some wiring (or at least that's what I'm told). Affected: radio wiring, CRT screen which works but doesn't always display, Tape Player got moisture damage. Car has approx 67,000 miles. Never hit. Some clear coat peeling off trunk lid. Runs as good as it always did. Other minor stuff needs fixing. I'm too old to do it. Don't know what it's worth. What are the correct pressure settings for the AC in an 88 Reatta?

88 Reatta - had ac charged and clutch started burning/belt slipping. Told compressor went bad. It was OK until this year when diagnostice disengaged it for lack of freon. Did the mech screw up or could the compressor go like that? I told him to release some gas and the compressor ran OK although it didn't stay on constantly - more like on-off, on-off - on for 20 sec off for 5. what am i dealing with here? Anyone know? Since shortly after I bought the car in Sept. 1988 i noticed the 'finish' on the wheels started peeling off. Don't remember if i brought it to the dealer's attention. Anyway, the wheels look bad. Anybody else experience this. Can the wheels be redone? Any help or thoughts appreciated. John
