  1. I need to sell my Reatta as I just don't have the time or money to fix it up. I have had it since 1995 and now the clear coat is peeling, the seats are torn and I just don't have the heart to see it just sit here and not get fixed back up. It still runs good with around 150,000 miles on it. Just put on new shocks and struts, and tires. It had been my Sunday driver but around 1999 I had to use it daily on my sales job and racked up the miles. But I kept up the routine maintenance on it and the air still works! I love this car and hope someone out there want one to restore. If anyone would like this car please let me know and I can e-mail pics and more information.

  3. Tom, I used my car as a food broker for over 4 years, meaning I had lots of large boxes of samples and amazed the food warehouses with the amount of samples I could pack in that little car. The back area is great and also the trunk is large. I never ever had a mechanical problem while on the road except some smoke came from my dash the last time the cluster went out, I just let it sit awhile and then drove it on home, 40 miles or so. I did have a fan put on my transmission and that seemed to keep it from heating up on the long hills in the middle of the summer. Also it tends to get warm when the air conditioning is on in town but on the freeway the air works fine.
  4. Hi Bill, yes I do love my car, not many around here in Boise and I have a good mechanic that has replaced the instrument cluster three times since I bought it but the last time he had a really hard time finding one. I was just thinking that maybe there was someone out there who would like a project and would restore mine and keep it going. I am the second owner and all records. I have several cars and need to decide which ones to keep and fix up. My 1975 Mercedes 280C is in very nice original condition and runs great, I have my mothers 1973 VW convertible that needs paint, interior etc.., 1985 Buick Electra 225 stationwagon, and a 1989 Buick Lesabre stationwagon, not to mention my Dad's '63 Rivera and my daily driver a '93 T-Bird. After I posted my query yesterday I took my Reatta out around town and was reminded of how great a little car it is.
  5. Thank you for the reply. Does that mean that I can just get the clear coat removed and repainted without the entire paint job? My car is red with the palamino interior. It also has a split in the driver side door, in the padding up by the window. I agree that it is nice to not have a car payment but I have seen how much it can add up to when restoring a car especially when I have to count on others to do all the work. My Dad and I have many cars, 2 Buick station wagons and also a 63' Rivera that he has spent a lot of money on. I do love the car and hated to see it get so run down bu? had to use it daily for years in a sales job and put all those miles on it. I live in Boise, Idaho.
  6. I have a 1990 Reatta and was thinking of doing the same thing with it as you are. Did you have any responses? I just posted a similar question on this site. My car however has no dents and runs great. Let me know what you have found out such as price etc... thank you!!

  8. I have a 1990 Buick Reatta. I bought it in 1995 and it runs great although it now has 154,000 miles on it. I can't decide if I should try and fix it up or sell as is. The leather upholstery is going bad, the dash is cracked and now the clear coat on the paint is peeling on the roof. Can anyone advise me if I should part this out or sell "as is" or fix it up. I am concerned that if the instrument cluster goes out that I won't be able to replace it and also other parts won't become available as well.
