  1. Well, I don't want to start an argument, but I have a 1931 Dodge Brothers Coupe DG8 sitting in my garage at work. I have also, talked and e-mailed two other gentlemen whom have the same car. Also, if you check the new Dodge Brothers roster from this year, there is a couple in there too. I cannot find out how many were built. Would love to know though. Pete
  2. The DG8 was also installed in some cars. Mostly the 4 door sedans. But also in some of the coupes. I have yet been able to find out how many. I have been to different sites and found conflicting numbers.
  3. I have a 31, and they are painted. If that is any help. There is no sign at all of any kind of plating. Pete
  4. Thanks John, I have already dropped the pan and cleaned the screen. The oil filter was a bolt on option in 31 it mounted to the side of the block btween the generator and distributor. I have found several for large trucks at flea markets etc. Nothing that will fit our cars. Pete
  5. I have sent you an e-mail. If it doesn't get through, please contact me at pcmackay@myeastern.com. Thanks,Pete
  6. Well, as some of you know by now, my complete car didn't come as complete as one would wish. I am in need of the bolts used to hold the brake lines to the back of the brake cylinders. Also, the thermostat assembly that controls the radiator shutters is the wrong one. Does anyone have these parts or know where I can get them? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Pete
  7. I have a 31 DG8 Coupe. The temp sending unit was dissasembled by the previous owner. The tube is twisted off and the actual unit that mounts in the head is missing. Does anyone know where I can go to get this repaired? The rest of the unit seems ok, just old. Any advice would be apppreciated. Thanks, Pete
  8. Seems the oil filter assembly was the wrong one.Thankfully the guy gave me the money back.
  9. Just to update, I found the oil filter assy. Hope to have it on this weekend.
  10. My Father and I are trying to figure out how to remove the forward most wooden frame member. It is encased in metal, the windshield on the outside and the interior framework on the inside. Is there an easy way to do this? Are we missing something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Pete
  11. The car was hauled away today. I found a guy in Hemmings that had one for sale, I gave it to him to go along with his. Hopefully it can all end up in a good home. I'm just glad it didn't end up in the crusher. Thanks for the help. Pete
  12. I am also looking for some parts. Does anyone have a source for parts for this vehicle? I need the oil filter assembly. The canister and lines are missing, along with the mounting bracket. Any help would be appreciated. Pete
  13. I am going up on Wednesday to help with the car. I will take some pictures and get them posted here. Thanks, Pete

  16. Harsh, I have just purchased a 1931 Dodge DG Coupe. It too has the straight 8 in it. Though I must admit I don't know alot about the car and am learning daily. If there is anything I can do with pictures etc. Please don't hesitate to ask. Pete Putnam,Ct.
  17. My Father is working on a 31 model A. I am trying to help him figure out which model he has. The tag in the engine compartment is unreadable. He does know that it is 4 drs, Murray body style. But how do we determine is it 140, 155, 160 or 170?? Is there some body lines or styling that tell the difference?? Any help would be appreciated. Pete
  18. I have a 1936 Buick rotting into the ground in my back yard. It kills me to think of sending it to the crusher. This car is a real mess, but something of interest if you have another your working on. It is free to anyone that can make use of it. The car is in Putnam, CT. Pete
