  1. What do you think of the one in post 502057 ? http://home.comcast.net/~k3ws Ken
  2. It really is a nice car. I'll be sorry to see it go. Thanks for your comment. Ken
  3. I did reinstall the 16 way control pod - once. Every time I got in and out of the car, I slid across it and damaged it. Finally, I got tired of it looking crappy, and, since it wasn't the most inspired piece of engineering on the car, I moved the controls to a safe, though somewhat inconvenient location, and saved the damaged pod for a future, hopefully, restorer. A close look at the pictures will show the outline of the pod and the holes for the two screws on upolstery of the driver's seat.
  4. BTW, if you click on the picture it will enlarge and if you click on it again, it will display in hi res. If you click on it again, it will jump out of the monitor and hit you in the nose. Try it! Ken
  5. Thanks again Barney. Your theory certainly is plausible. And, thanks to MauiWowee for providing a working link to my pix. One of the links that I created had an extra character in it that caused it to fail. Hopefully, a collector will be interested in this. I’d hate to see it go to someone who’ll treat it as just another old used car. I only have room for one Hot Wheels toy at a time, and it’s time for a new toy.
  6. Barney, Thank you for the refresher on the service tag codes. I have added a picture of the service tag to http://home.comcast.net/~k3ws. The Pinstripe code is 75A (red). As you can see from the pictures, the pinstripe is continuous and is red over gold (yellow?). Who knows! It's a nice job whoever did it and whenever it was done. Thanks again for your kind attention! Ken

  18. Can't say for sure about the stripes. They were there when I got the car in Oct. 2002. The paint looks original. By the way, the radio/CD player are from a '95 Riviera (I have the original nonfunctional ones). The seat controls that are normally mounted on the left side of the driver's seat have been relocated as shown in the picture (no mods to the wiring were necessary and I have the original housing). I kept damaging it as I got in and out of the car. The lettering on the shift quadrant was redone by me and microsoft Word because the original looked a bit shabby (Ihave the original parts).I have many Hi-Res pictures. Is there a way I can send a zip file to you? Thanks, Ken
  19. The day after I bought the car in Oct. 2002, I discovered water in the spare tire area where this label is located. I took a picture of the label for documentation, dried the water, and inspected the weather stripping. It was OK and the water has not been back since. Go figure!
