  1. So I just completed the job. The nut that everyone says is Impossible to get at was tight but far from difficult. The one tight fastener located on the lower left of the heater box in the engine compartment required some patience but it was accessible. I was able to get at it from the engine compartment and no I did not put it back on. Hard to believe that the factory service manual wants you to cut the inner wheel well. Header bolts are in tighter places. Job took less than an hour.
  2. What is the straight scoop on replacing the heater core in my 67 Sklark. No air. I have heard about the hole drilling in the fender well and I have heard that to just take the damm fender off. can anyone give me the straight scoop. If I drill the hole how do mI reseal the outer housing? I just want to do it correctly. Any info would be appreciated.
  3. I am using a Chevy 700r4 behind my Buick 455 with an adapter plate. 373's in rear. Engine puts out about 500 hp. The combination is working well. 80 mph on the highway at 2500 rpm.
  4. I am putting a b4b intake on my 455 I am having trouble with the pcv grommet on the rear of the intake. Does the valve fit in this grommet. What is the correct part number for the grommet. A picture would be woth a thousand words. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you
  5. I have a 67 Buick Skylark with the 300 cu. in. engine. 2 sp automatic. I would like to switch to a 3 or 4 speed automatic transmission. What are my options? Where can I find a tranny like this? Next year I plan on pulling the 300 and installing a 455. Are the tranny bolt patterns on these two engine the same? What I am getting at is I would like to use the same tranny that I purchase for the 300 and the 455. I am inclined to believe that the two have different bolt patterns. Thank You in advance for any help someone can give me and I look forward to all input. Jamie Donahue
  6. It turn very tight and very unsmooth. I also need to paint it. I bought this column a couple of years ago and I would like to install it now. I have the tools to take it apart but I have not done that in a long while. I seem to remember that is is quite complicated.
  7. Is there anyone that rebuilds tilt steering columns? I need a tilt unit for a 67 Skylark gone thru. Thanks Jamie
  8. I would like to put a 455 in my 67 Skylark. I would like to hear any info on motor mounts, headers, exhaust manafolds, cooling, transmissions etc. Are there better 455's to use for a core than others. Anyone rebuild these in the New England area. Thanks
