  1. I'll bet it would sell. I have been looking into building a rat rod and I have looked at some worse stuff here in Missouri and gave it serious thought. Of course, I know practically anyone here couldn't care less, but that is what the fad is about, taking junk and driving it. I wouldn't tear up a good car or body to build, I would only use some junk that no one else would care to restore. Does that make sense? I guess being around in any state is better than being a China 13mm wrench. I also have spotted a body with basically the same shape but I think it's a Plymouth. It has a beautiful oval rear window hole. It has neat body lines that go up over the cowl and goes to a point. I need to post some pics of it. It was gave to me. Don't worry, you don't want it.

  2. Found a cluster today, maybe it is pickup. The late 30's stuff looks close but I have looked at many web pics and haven't seen the exact one yet. But mostly cars were searched. It is about 12" by 6" high, convex to fit a slightly curved dash. Stainless bezel all around. Straight across numbers to 100 wrote with a little flourish near the top. Speedo needle just shows thru a slit cut in cover plate which was whitish with some thin black accent lines. Looks like maybe a black paint circle in the center over odometer. Bright lights light in upper left corner. 4 square or slightly rectangle guages along the bottom from l to r: generator light only, gas, (then odometer) then oil pressure then water temp. Made by A C on back, patent applied for. Thanks for any leads. Also the round ones shown in the first pic could use identifying. Thanks.

  3. This topic is fun to talk about, but changes we talk about happen so slowly that you don't really notice. Kinda like when an old man tells you "well, we use to do this or that....". They had to deal with new technologies and so will the young'uns. We all change (some more than others) with the times. I used to think I'd never understand a turbo system or fuel inj. but now that it is so commonplace, I understand and am looking forward to my first blow thru turbo motor build. I never thought I could understand a wiring dia. for a car, but I completely rewired my 60 Buick this year. (I know it's not the same as today's cars.) The more I looked and studied my factory manuals, the more comfortable and easy it came to be. Whatever fuel, whatever switch, whatever lever or gear, whatever material, be it steel or admantium, we will become comfortable with and use. But I will say this, I'll buy my kind of cars, the rest of you can start buying up those Tauruses!!!

  4. A while back I started a thread and then it led to the Signal 30 movie. I wanted to see it, but I can't play the MP4 format. Does anyone know where or how to download and watch it?? Thanks, Rob.

  5. While pilfering around an old house place today, I found an early REO headlamp. It is about 11.5 inches across with a single mounting post and a small brass REO emblem on the top front. It was made by Guide. I've looked at some pics, and it appears to be late 20's to early 30's but could anyone help narrow my search to identify and probably eventually sell this to someone who needs it? Thanks.

  6. Yes, I know that's all he gets. Got my money promptly. All I was saying although badly worded was that he is looking for an antenna switch. I was just trying to help a fellow Buick guy out is all I am trying to say and since you guys are so great here I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks to all, since no response on switch, I'm done. Rob.

  7. I sure could use some driver quality parts. I need front bumper brackets, a left front turn signal lens and housing, and a left rear license light housing and chrome. I have a lens. Thanks. What year did the front grille emblem have three mounting studs that was just a little smaller than my two studded 60 emblem of which I also need? What is the posi trac rear member worth? I'm not sure of the gear, but prob in high two's or low three's I would assume.

  8. I think the front doors are the same on the 60 4 door Electra 4719 and the 60 wagons. Is this true? The reason being I need the stainless trim on the window surround to interchange. Also, the front post on the rear door may be the same, i.e. straight up and down and the same height therefore that trim piece would interchange possibly. I know the wagon roofline from here stays high where the pillared sedan dives. So, can you put the front door stainless and rear front piece on a wagon? Thanks.

  9. I have a Casco power unit on my 60 Electra and I have the red book that has walked me thru the disassembly process. The motor works fine, but my cord has some slick spots on it and you have to help it up and down. What has been done by any of you to make the wheel grab the cord consistently? The mast is good and straight (lightly oiled). I'd like keep it and not replace. As a last resort, does this repair guy have a website or #? I don't buy Hemmings. Thanks.

  10. Restated, TORQUE TUBE driveline is the reason for the four door designation. Complete to trans. If no one wants complete, carrier will go to Ebay along with other 60 Electra parts including A/C stuff, windows, all trim on the roof section save for windshield surround. Other stuff. Thanks.
