I have a 71 CS conv with TH350 and cruise. The cruise has not worked in many years, and recently the speedometer needle started bouncing, sticking, and then quit entirely. Replaced the lower cable, no help. Replaced the transducer and both the cruise and the speedo started working. But the speedo quit after just a day or two (cruise still works). Disconnected the upper cable at the transducer and reattached, and all worked fine - for a day or two again. Tip of the upper cable at transducer looked funky, so repaced the upper cable. Now speedo works fine above about 25 MPH, but anywhere below that it bounces pretty hard. Have lubed and relubed, verified connections, etc. HELP - its driving me nuts!
