Looking for a NOS or decent used INTAKE MANIFOLD for a "small block" straight 8 '53 Buick Special. I believe the intake from any '50 to '53 248 or 263 cu. in. motor will fit. The larger displacement 320 will not. Many thanks, usmcfred

I'm getting an intermittent "whistling" sound from the area of the Carter carb on my daughter's '53 Special (STRAIGHT 8). My first reaction was to look for a vacuum leak, but I've found none. That does not mean there isn't one, but I can't locate it if there is. Can someone knowledgible about these cars give me some advice as to how to remedy this? It seems to only occur when the car is warmed up and at normal operating temperature. Upon cold start-up, I don't hear anything. Many thanks. usmcfred BCA

<span style="font-weight: bold">WTB '53 SPECIAL TRUNK EMBLEM DISC WITH SHIELD</span> Plater ruined mine so looking for part #1346878 in very good to excellent condition. It is the detachable 3" round disc containing the in-painted Buick shield. All leads gratefully accepted. THANKS! usmcfred

Excellent repro's are available at Bob's Automobilia as well as sometimes appearing on ebay auctions. They are not cheap however are actually better than originals (if you could even find a NOS part) as the modern colors are not affected by UV like pigments used in the 40's and 50's. A new plastic insert really highlights the front of the car compared to an old sun faded one. Good luck! usmcfred

WTB For '53 Special 41D [color:\\"red\\"] a NOS or re-chromed "emblem and base" for the trunk lid Buick part # 1161788. This is composed of two die castings ... the base that holds the red plastic BUICK/EIGHT monograms, and the 2.5" round disc emblem with painted Buick crest part #1346878. PLEASE HELP! Thanks! Anyone parting out a '53 Special 4 Door Sedan?? I'm looking for a nice front door glass. Must be OEM <span style="font-weight: bold">LOF E-Z Eye</span> which has a very slight tint. Yes, I have already checked at local glass shops that can cut flat safety glass using my cracked piece as a pattern, but no one can match the very light tinting of the LOF E-Z Eye. If you have an LOF E-Z EYE window that is not delaminating or bubbling and has no deep scratchs or cracks, please contact me. Many thanks, usmcfred

Rod, Both come up fairly often on ebay. Just refine your searches and place in your Favorites and you will automatically be notified as new auctions are listed for these items. I've seen Buick tissue dispensers and gas door moldings within the last month. Good luck, usmcfred
