  1. Thank you, Roberta. Any hint is helpful, and I'll check out buying one of the manuels. Take care, Larry Mike Garmon
  2. I have a 1995 Riviera-Supercharger 3.8 #1 Engine. I recently had the Supercharger replaced and have had charging problems since this replacement. I have tried various alternators but the car is not charging on a regular basis. An old, old man who works on the car (I trust him more than the Buick dealer in this town) says that the wiring harness leading to the alternator only has two wires on the 1995 whereas the schematic for the 1996 show three wires. He couldn't find a schematic for a 1995. He doesn't have the equipment to check the computer or instrument panel, where he says the problem may lie. I'm hoping it's not the computer or instrument panel. One wire is brown and the other red, I think. He says it appears that the Stator and Light wires are the only ones being used on the 1995 Buick but that all three wires normally associated with an alternator are used on the 1996. As a side note, my horn stopped working and the cruise control will set once, but will not resume. You've got to restart the engine before the cruise control will work again. The alternator presently on my Riviera will put out 09-11 volts and then jump to 12-14 volts of charging. The idiot light is not constantly on. Sometimes, the alternator will charge for two or three days and then suddenly the light will come on and it won't charge at all -- then it will charge, and so on and so on. I hope someone can help me. I love the Riviera but my wife is ready to get rid of it because we have had so many problems with our particular '95 Riviera (I think I got a lemon, something that even happesn on the Buick production line). Please respond to larry_mike@mac.com Thank you, Larry Mike Garmon
