  1. Just type selve selcta into Google and you will get several articles, including a reference to this forum! I love Google!
  2. You glue the envelope to a box. Full of rocks. And the application says something about them being dumber than a box of rocks. The Post Office now asks you if there is anything "not airplane safe" in the box. Rocks are safe.
  3. My Dad is 84 and getting too old to chase mechanics all over the state of Maryland. He needs someone who looks forward to working on his 1940 La Salle (Caddy) 5219. He lives in Glyndon, which is near Reisterstown, Owings Mills, Westminster, Garrison. Actually, Glyndon is the middle of nowhere, but I can't convince him to move down to North Carolina where I can get him twenty mechanics. Rhino Guy lasalle5019(AT)yahoo.com
  4. My dad has yet another problem with his oldie. How do you remove the window cranks and the door handles? He says that he forced one off, can't figure out what holds it. If that is true, that they are just forced on, then should he use a ball joint separator to pry them off? lasalle5019@yahoo.com or henrykoch@comcast.net
  5. My dad is pretty good with cars. I have a vague recollection of the neighbor's car in our shared driveway with the head off. My dad was helping Irv do a valve job. That was around 1958 or 9. I was a little car freak back then. A cylinder head is cool! He told me on the phone that the belt looks REALLY old and it slips very bad, even now that the oil has been removed. I'm sure he has tightened it by now. Any idea where to get one? Bob Koch, lasalle5019@yahoo.com or Henry Koch, (dad) henrykoch@comcast.net
  6. I just joined AACA. I personally have a 1938 La Salle 5019 in North Carolina. My dad has a 1927 Buick, model 20 two door in Maryland. He just realized that at 83 years young he doesn't have the strength to keep up with this car. He just bought it and discovered that the fan belt keeps popping off. He would like a new belt in order to sell the car. Straight six cylinder. It does run just fine, smokes a bit, but is all there and ready to restore. The exterior is excellent (medium blue, black fenders) the interior needs much work/parts. Call Henry in Glyndon, Maryland at 410-833-0318. I think he has $8,600 in it and would like to avoid taking a big hit on resale. henrykoch@comcast.net or lasalle5019@yahoo.com
