  4. Hello, I've owned my 88 for about a month now. I've experienced this surge, although not racing like Stephen described. I'll be at a traffic light and for no reason I feel to car wanting to take off, I then apply the brakes a bit harder to hold the car back. What causes this phenomena ? Thanks
  5. Hello, more questions, I really appreciate all you guys for your patience. Here's the Probs. 1. I get an Climate control alert when I start up the car. It says that AC has low refrigerant and AC has been turned off. Am I best to go to GM dealer for this or to go to an AC guy type garage they're a dime a dozen here in South FL. ? 2. I go to climate on CRT and play with the fan controls. The fan icon accelerates when I play with fan speed buttons, but for the life of me I can't hear a thing and I don't feel any increased flow of air coming out of the vents either. Although, I believe the vent control ( bi-level/defrost ) buttons work because I can hear activity in the catacombs of the car. 3. The radio don't work either. I've read the prob. from the post the Riviera chap had. I'll get an amp to see if that remedies that prob. Anyone out there able to direct me on this climate prob. on points 1 & 2 ? Thanks in advance Serge
  6. Hello, Not sure if the Teves was removed or Buick went to another system. I suppose we'll have to wait for the Reatta book project to come out. Myself, am not yet accustomed to all of Reatta's idiosyncracies to say. I own now. I don't regret it, yet. There's quite a number of them down here in South Florida. I can't wait return to Canada with mine, they'll be few and far apart. <span style="font-style: italic">"grin"</span> later, Serge I'll see at the junkyard about the center caps.
  7. Hello, Bob White was kind to re-size the pics. They can be viewed at the link below. http://www.s119368997.onlinehome.us/reatta/ later, Serge
  8. Hello, Thanks Bob, Pics are now available go to: http://www.s119368997.onlinehome.us/reatta/ pity, such a pity later Serge

  10. Hello, I'm looking at purchasing both CRTC & CRT from the junk yard Reatta that I've posted today. What would be a reasonable price for these items ? TY Serge
  11. hello, The Reatta I stumbled upon yesterday at the junk yard is an 88 that was impounded, it never crashed. It's sad because it's been through slash and burn artists. I got the touch screen and some dash components. Got a pic of the VIN. request for advise: the yard wants $500 for the engine and tranny is it worth it ? I've got 7 pics that will be posted soon. Be on the look out. the car could have had a nice home....alas later Serge
  12. hello again, I was scowering the local junk yard today, and fell upon a Reatta. What a sad sight. I'm gonna go back and take some photos.Although, I can't post them on this site, seems my photos are too large for the alloted capacity. Any of you who are interested just drop me a note and I'll gladly send them to you. I'll get the VIN no. as well. I'm not fluent in reading VIN's so I can't say for sure what year it is. I believe it's either a Red 88 or 89. It still has the motor and tranny. the interior is somewhat trashed though. The car doesn't seem to have been in an accident it's more like it was seized, it has sticker on it from repo people. Door panels are toast, some dash components still salvageable. the touch screen is still there, console's toast, 16 way seat toast. I felt bad for this car. later, Serge, sob*....
  13. Hello, I've recently got my BCA membership. Now, I'm trying to get a hold of The Reatta chapter via e-mail, it's an AOL address. I keep getting returned mail from the address on the listing. anyone of you have a current e-mail address ? TY Serge
  14. Hello, I can use a complete tailightr assembly, do you have ? and how much ? TY Serge
  15. Hello, I got the caliper to reseat. For future reference, you'll need a 5" C clamp, the cubie thingamajig, and a third arm. I set the caliper on it's backside, caliper piston facing up, then inserted the cubie tool, fitted a 5" C clamp which fitted perfectly to the opposite side of the cubie which prevented the clamp from sliding off the cubie. This is where the third arm or a leg comes in. I squeezed the clamp just enough for the whole ass'y to be snug, then I used the exposed cubie side's 3/8" receivers and fitted 3/8 ratchet extensions and rotated both the clamp and cubie using the extensions. It worked fine. I took a photo of the arrangement although, it had too many MB or KB's anyhow. If anyone wants a pic. of the bastard tool drop me a message. Regards Serge
