Thanks for all your thoughts guys, I'll let you know what I decide, and if I'm not going to buy it, I'll see if the guy wants me to post his phone# here in case anyone else does. (and to answer one question brought up, its been sitting in an alley, uncovered, and unloved for 15 years)

A neighbor is selling or junking his 1955 Clipper 2-door, it's been sitting for 15 years, and everything mechanical is shot on it but the frame and body have only surface rust, and all the chrome is there and decent. I'm considering buying it, but instead of restoring all things mechanical (which would take forever to find, and a pile of $$$) trying to restomod it with new suspension, drivetrain, etc. Has anyone heard of this being done to one before? Is it plausible? Is it sacriligious? Let me know. Thanx, Mefaillenglish? (that's UNpossible!)
