  1. Thanks Dave for your information on the shift levers. I focused my efforts in that area and took them apart today and discovered that one spring washer was worn and broken. I used a thicker washer to take up the slack and have tested the vehicle and it is shifting fine. Thanks for all your help.
  2. I have a 4dsd and am quite certain that it had some type of emblem. Thanks for your help.
  3. Thanks Rick I will try this. Also for your info. this problem mainly occurs when the vehicle is under load, i.e. accelerating through the gears. When the vehicle is parked it shifts smoothly.
  4. I am restoring a 1940 Packard 110, 4dsd, and it is missing the trunk emblem and it has been painted over. I have no idea what it looks like. The mounting holes on the center of the trunk are 3 1/4 inches apart. Does anyone have photos that could help? The emblems I have seen are long and narrow shields that don't appear to be that wide.
  5. My 1940 Packard 110 column shifter gets stuck when shifting from 1st-2nd gear. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
