86 calais gt

Sorry I lost touch with you guys for so long. My computer crashed and I just recently replace it. I was wondering if anybody had any information on how to find out how many GTs were produced (in 1986 or a total number for both years). After decoding the trim codes I discovered that this particular car was originally designed as a normal Calais 2 door and was changed to a GT after assembly had already begun. According to the trim codes it was originaly going to be a Med Gray Calais with a Gray interior. It then was changed to Black with the silver ground effects. Any info anyone can give me would be appreciated. P.S. New paint is scheduled for January.

The VIN code on my GT is 1G3NF27L2GM. I appreciate any help or info you can give me. You're only the second person so far who even seems to know that they exist. This one is in pretty good shape and I was curious about it's collectability, Thanks Again,

Is there any way to find out how many GTs were made in 86. I also wanted to decode my VIN, but my olds book stops at 1980. Any help? I did decod my trim tag and found out it did com with the Eagle GTs on it. It has the V6 auto and most of the items previously mentioned.

The car is pretty neat. This one is black with silver ground affects. It has the 3.0 auto. The interior is spotless with almost no wear patterns, and no tears. Let me tell you that 3.0 really runs. It does have the typical GM problem with the paint on the hood roof and trunk. Is there any way to find out exactly how many of these things were built?

I have recently purchase a 1986 Olds Calais GT. I am usually ok with olds models (I used to sell them) but I've never heard of this one. I've spoken to several people locally and the only one who barely remembers them was a olds salesman, and he's not sure he ever saw one. He told me that he thinks they only made them 1 or 2 years and then they were replaced with the international. Can anyone verify any of this info or perhaps add to it?
