hi, i have a 1951 dodge coronet gyromatic transmission, 230 cu in flat 6. recently the engine blew a pretty big hole in the side of the block. i was wanting to eventually, (when i had the money), go bigger engine wise. any recomendations as what i need to do. i've been told that a 318 will work with my tranny, and that it won't. i have also been considering going with something simple like a chevy 350, where i'll need a new tranny. another option reccomended to me was subframing a front end with a v8 and front disc brakes but this seems too complicated. also if i replace the tranny, does anybody need a good working gyromatic? what can i do???
