From the little I know, the zinc (pot metal) metal is alloyed with lead and this causes internal granular disintegration (ie crystallization). The lead is alloyed to act as a lubricant in the die casting.

This is a solid car; for the enjoyment of the driving experience; although, it could be restored for the show circuit.

By the way; my Lincoln is a driver not a show car. Future owners can do repairs/restoration of various parts; however, preservation, HPOF, is what I have been basing my ownership on.

The technology is extant to read in and reproduce sand castings. Check out ProMetal RTC and view their 3D sand printing machine in action. Repro blocks could be produced for less than 12K.

My series 72 has 74703-1 on it with the NH...it is a "Red Head".

By the way Jan,....I have better than 70 mph in my PA; and a friend of mine with a restored PB roadster has done in excess of 70 mph also!

The body is aluminum and the fenders, hood and splash aprons are steel.

Folks....the Hyman comment was just a note....yes, you can get in my opinion alot more significant auto for 150K....although; if you want a good drivable "L" mine is great.

Just saw an ad that Hyman Ltd. has a 1925 beautifully restored Lincoln roadster they are asking $149,500!

I had them fabricated from scratch; I had about a dozen parts made for the car that are exact replicas of the original ones.

I am selling a car that I have a lot of time and money in. It is a project I cherish and would like it to get into caring hands. It is a Series "72" Chrysler Royal Sedan. The body work is finished to the highest standards, an identical parts car/ pattern comes with the one I am restoring. To view it pull up page 11 of the our cars and restoration projects; it is the 6th topic from the top. Let me know what you think. I was working to make the a concours winner.

I have adjusted the prices down again......Lincoln $14,000.....Studebaker.....$9,000

The car was restored completely probably in the 60's; with the PB engine installed and the overdrive. It was set up to be a driver in that era; not a national show winner.

I looked into reproducing these early die castings using investment casting by having the part read into a computer; then making some corrections ( to remove the cracks and ajust for the swelling ) via the computer then 3D printing the part in wax.
