Well you are in luck! I have just went through the same learning experience. If there is no vin plate on the right upper floor board, the vin number for the car is stamped on the frame on the passenger side just above the rear front spring mount. The engine vin number is just above where the carburetor mounts to the engine block.

I am wondering if there is information availeable on the specifications on the framework for rebuilding the top and any info on the interior.

I have a 24 Touring and I am looking for any info on where I can aquire a new top and also information on interior. I am not above finding the materials and attempting to do the work myself if I can aquire original information and specifications. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
