The Sweede

Slips and Chatters going into O.D. - can't seem to make up it's mind between 1-3rd gears when taking off. Fluid is thin and smells burned. Was going to do fluid/filter, but mechanic suggests looking at first. Any suggestions? I know that this tranny was recalled years ago - trying to keep her going - love the car, low budget, single mom needs assistance! Thank you!
