  1. Hi, I have a 27 Regal Commander Big Six EW sedan. The starter motor goes around just fine... won't engage the crank. Tried to remove it to examine the parts to determine the problem... but after removing the fan pulley and the front with the clutch pieces, I can't remove the rest from the crank. The nut came right off. As I try to pull the back and sprocket... it moves about 1/4 inch and comes to a hard stop. I don't want to apply force... don't want to break anything. Suggestions? I still don't understand what drives what and how the starter disengages from the crank after the engine starts. Help!
  2. Thanks oldford. Since the engine does not run at this time and can't get hot... I think I'll open up the settings to .008 for starters. Sound good? 22tango
  3. Hi, I need the valve clearances for my 27 EW Big Six. Want to drive it to South Bend. Need to finish assembly of the motor. Also... Anyone have an oil filter... not the origional stamped steel one but rather a cannister type. Thanks
  4. commander, Thanks for the blow by blow discription. I should have it up and running in no time. The initial setting will have to be done cold. Probably will set them 1 or 2 thou looser to allow for expansion. Any thoughts on torque specs? Thanks again.
  5. I'm no expert... but the pictures look a lot like my EW 1927 Commander. The rear bumper and tire carrier are the same as mine. The front bumper is slightly different. Engine pics seem the same as mine. For what it's worth. Nice piece to go to work on..... enjoy.
  6. Hi, Looking for the valve clearances for my 27 EW big six Regal Commander. I could also use the torque specs for the bottom end and head. Parts needed: Inside door handles and window winder handles. A previous owner replaced the interior door fabric and left the handles off. Want to get it running and over to Lisle IL for the SDC zone meet. Thanks for any info
