I'm trying to contact these two people - Both lived in Colorado in the 80's and were OCA members. If you know any of them, please email me at bw1339 at yahoo.com
Thank you.

You can ask the Toronado.org list. To join (free) you need to send an email to thelist@toronado.net with the word "subscribe" in the subject line. There are many knowledgeable early Toro people there.

I shipped my 66 Toronado from CO to CT for $795 with Dash Auto Transport (do a google search). If you only want to ship large items, such as seats, I would try www.forwardair.com
Good luck.

Hello,
The Comfortron in my 66 Toronado is not working. I'm a bit afraid of taking the car to a normal A/C place. Does anyone know of a good place (hopefully near CT) that can fix my Comfortron?
Thanks,
Mikel

I know I'm always proselitizing, but are you a member of the Toronado list?

I just fixed my 66 Toronado's. The turn signal switch is bolted to the left of the steering column and is actuated by a wire. You DON'T need to take the steering colun apart. Just lower it so you can access the switch, take it apart, clean it with some fine sand paper, adjust the wire, and it will be as good as new.
Email me if you have any questions.

That is not likely to happen for anyone who owns an old car, especially an old Toronado! Ol' T. Rex has sure been deep in my bank accounts the whole 17 years I've owned him... sometimes I think it would have been cheaper to have a kid!
</div></div>
If you think a Toronado is bad enough.... I also have a 1969 Jeep M715 (Military 5/4 ton Pick-up). Jeep = Just Empty Every Pocket
If you are looking for a cheaper way to spend your time, I recommend drugs. Much cheaper than Oldsmobiles or Jeeps

Hi,
I have a 66 Toronado too and I have the same problem. The steering column changed in 67 and the 66 turn signal switch is almost impossible to find. Are you a member of the Toronado mailing list? If not, I strongly recommend you join this list. Lots of great people who like early Toronados there...
To join, send a blank email to thelist@toronado.net with the word subscribe in the subject line.
Good luck,
Mikel

Bruce Roe ( bcroe@juno.com ) makes an aftermarket controller for switch pitch torque converters about which I've heard VERY good things. Do a google search on "Bruce Roe switch pitch" and you will find lots of info. Or you can email him. I have a 66 Toronado with a S/P converter and I plan on getting Bruce's controller as soon as I pay off my credit cards.
Good luck.

Not an Olds, but I have a 1969 Jeep M715 (Military 5/4 ton Pick-up) with 13K miles. With 5/4 ton springs and 5.88 gears, it's surprising it has THAT MANY miles

Hello,
I have a 1966 Toronado with a fairly decent interior. The problem is that after 38 years, the vinyl is starting to show its age and is starting to crack with use. I plan on driving my Toronado as much as I can, and I would like to replace the seat covers. Of course, nobody makes seat covers for early Toronados, so I was considering going to an upholstery place to have my old covers replicated. Any idea how much $$ I would be looking at?
Thanks,
Mikel
