  1. Thank you, Thank you!! It is very satisfying and ego boosting, to have so many coments from outside the small pond that I swim in. Around here, it's a "Field Car" or "Thats Just A Buick". Also Kieth, I would like to pick your mind someday on a future project. I found a 1968 Skylark Conv. GS 400/4spd, stored for 29 years, before I take it apart and mess it up! Back to why I posted this ad. Economy, has hit my life hard and I MUST sell this 1967 Car. So, I am willing to sweeten the deal. If sold soon (before 2003 ends) I will throw in a 1969 Skylark Conv. Custom (this is the red primer car that is on page 2 of the car album)for FREE!!! The vin #44679z110666, no rust at all, gloss black frame, ployurthane "everything"suspension kit, 4 wheel disc brakes/posi, close ratio box, tilt steering, elect windows(1968 w/wingwindows), elect bench seat, AC or not-(two dashs & wiring), 16" INKI rims w/ZR tires NEW, Needs paint and some assembly. Please Buy My 67!! Thanks agian, Don
  2. Steve N. First off, I did not believe it was real either. My number book agrees. Also, when I found this car, the front-end was a different shade of white. To answer your question. During the late 1960's, factories built promotional cars for all kinds of reasons. Racing was one of them. To quality, more than 500 needed to be built. Also, less than 350 cid needed to be used. The Special(43307) weighed 247 lbs. less than the Skylark. But, the monies were to promote SKYLARK, for years to come. So, the 4th week of December, when Freemont Factory was closed, 544 plain jane, Specials were turned into California G.s. Skylark clones. The rest is history. Reference: Guide to G.S. Buick(1965-1975) fact and figure book-see astrix at bottom of page 20. Thank you for asking. Don
  3. I have included a photo album of the vehicle during the restoration and a few taken today (11-13-03). Just click on the pages and it will go to the next photo. Thanks, Don
  4. 1967 Buick California GS Special Number 9 of 544 Vin: 43307 7Z107102 Cowl # 67-43407-BF00607 Motor 340cid 4_bbl #7Z107102 260 hp / 365 ftlb Transmission 2 speed switch pitch Rear end # LAD329 (2.78 to 1) Dash Date: 11-8-66 Door panel date: 11-18-66 New 2 stage Artic White paint with red pinstripes Sparkomatic AM radio New black vinyl top and interior. This vehicle was found on a farm in northern California. My research show that vehicle was only registered three years, 1967,1968,and 1987. This ground up restoration was started 20 months ago. During this time a wealth of knowledge was learned from a number of conversations with, amoung others, Steven L. Dove Author of "The GS facts and figures book" Version 1 and 2. This is a number matching limited production vehicle. It is 100% complete.Except for air cleaner, smog pump, and "CALIFORNIA" emblems. With 34,946.0 miles on odometer, which i believe to be orignal. This makes it a rare find. To be clear this is a pillared 1967 special, not a skylark. Refered to as export promotional, not for sale to general public vehicle. This car was assembled at two seperate plants, the final plant in fremont, California. It was completed the 4th week of December 1966. Call 530-846-0183 between 8:00am and 5:00pm pacific time, or email me. Price is $15,000.00 or best offer. Serious inquiries only.
