  1. THE STARTER RELAY WAS BAD, I THINK THE STARTER WAS ALSO BAD AND WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BAD RELAY. REPLACED BOTH AND STARTS LIKE NEW AGAIN. WILL BE REPLACING THE BATTERY CABLES JUST CAUSE. DON'T WANT A LITTLE CORRUSION TO LAND ME BACK IN THE GARAGE AGAIN. THANKS ALL!!!
  2. THANKS FOR THE POSTS, THEY REALLY HELP. BATTERY, CABLES AND POSTS FINE. THE WON'T START IS WHEN I ATTEMPT TO START IT I GET NOTHING, NOT EVEN A HUMM. AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS WHEN IT COOLS DOWN SITTING IN THE SHOP IT WILL START AND THE MECH THINK THEY HAVE IT FIXED. UNFORTUNATELY AFTER DRIVING IT AGAIN THE NEXT DAY IT DOES THE SAME NO START THING. SINCE IT HAS DONE THE SAME THING BEFORE AND AFTER BATTERY, STARTER, AND IGNITION SWITCH I TEND TO THINK IT IS SOMETHING NOT YET EXPLORED.
  3. Help!! I have a '90 reatta, daily driver with 90k miles that suddenly has developed a starting problem. I can start it first thing in the morning but after driving it for 30-45 minutes and turning the engine off it will not restart. I have had it to three different mechanics and the buick dealership and so far it has stumped everyone. I am getting understandably testy as I have been relegated to driving the minivan, uhg!! I have replaced the starter, battery, ignition switch, and the buick dealership cleaned and replaced a computer sensor (receipt is in the shop with the reatta). Any ideas? please!!!! rick
  4. SORRY FOR THE POST, I HAVE A TRUNK LID THAT WON'T OPEN. I WENT TO SEARCH AND DECIDED TO TRY THE SOLENOID (CHEAP AND EASY) BUT AFTER REPLACING IT TRUNK IS STILL NOT WORKING. I CAN HEAR THE SOLENOID CYCLING EVERY 5-10 SECONDS BUT NO TRUNK OPENING. I SAW A POST THAT SUGGESTED THE RELAY LOCATED ABOVE THE RIGHT REAR WHEAL WELL. IS THIS MY NEXT MOST LIKELY CULPRIT. THANKS.
  5. I HAVE FOUND A JUNKER IN A YARD IN TITUSVILLE WHICH HAS A FEW PARTS LEFT ON IT WHICH MAY HELP SOME OF YOU MEMBERS. IT IS A 1991 COUPE AND WAS THE VICTIM OF A FRONT END ACCIDENT (I WILL GET THE VIN FOR THE RECORD). I WOULD BE WILLING TO MAKE THE YARD AN OFFER FOR EVERYTHING LEFT (NOT MUCH) IF THERE IS INTEREST. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN MAKING MONEY ONLY HELPING PEOPLE WITH PARTS ISSUES. NO BIDDING I'M NOT E-BAY IF YOU'RE FIRST TO REQUEST A PART THE PART IS YOURS JUST TELL ME WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PAY. EVERYTHING IS IN ONLY FAIR CONDITION. LEFT IS THE FOLLOWING: 16 IN WHEELS COMPLETE, MOST OF THE INTERIOR (BLUE) (NO 16 WAY SEATS) REAR TRUNK HOOD, DOORS, AND ALL GLASS. PS I USED THE SEARCH FEATURE TO REPAIR MY TRUNK SOLENOID AND IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM. THANKS RICK
  6. I found this recall at http:www.reatta.net/tsb/recalls_general. I asked buick service technicians to provide me more information on this recall and they were not able to stating age of the recall was an issue for them. Buick was apparently interested in correcting frame integrity issues which the mass dampers were responsible for. The added weight of the dampers verse frame/bumber integrity is an important issue (not to mention cowl shake) Don't know what to do. Thanks all. Oh, by the way, the 28 1990 vin numbers are on that site.

ESPECIALLY APPRECIATE POSTS RE: HISTORY OF VEHICLE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND PARTS INFORMATION FROM THE MANY EXPERTS WHO REGULARLY CONTRIBUTE TO THIS SITE. ASIDE FROM BEING THRILLED WITH THIS AVERAGE CONDITION VEHICLE I HAVE COMPLETELY ENJOYED THIS FORUM. I HAVE MY WORK CUT OUT FOR ME IN RESTORING THIS VEHICLE TO THE CONDITION I WANT BUT WILL MAKE IT A LABOR OF LOVE. I HAVE ABOUT ONE HUNDRED QUESTIONS BUT WILL LIMIT MYSELF TO ONE TONIGHT: 1. WHEN I RESEARCHED THE RECALL HISTORY OF MY VEHICLE I DISCOVERED 91C62 "REMOVAL OF FRAME MASS DAMPERS". THIS RECALL WAS PERTINENT TO ALL 1991 CONVERTABLES AND TO 28 1990 CONVERTABLES. MINE, OF COURSE WAS ONE OF THE 28. I LOOKED IN THE SEARCH FEATURE BUT DID NOT FIND ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS SERVICE AND WAS HOPING SOMEONE HAD SOME INSIGHT INTO THIS. ALSO, WONDERED WHY 28 OF OVER 2,000 1990 VEHICLES WHERE EQUIPED WITH THESE DAMPERS. (PERHAPS LATE PRODUCTION RUN?)
