I had planned to rebuild the car, but circumstances have changed and it has sat for a couple of years. The straight 8 engine was rebuilt by a top notch engine shop. Transmission also rebuilt. Engine rebuilt, never started! Powerglide transmission rebuilt. Body solid, little rust on panels, floor needs replacing. Interior very rough. I had the engine and transmission removed and rebuilt with plans to rebuild the car, but time and money say otherwise and I have not been able to get it back together(also need to reclaim the garage space!) Car is located in White Plains, NY. It must be hauled on a flatbed. Make no mistake, this would be a major project! Thanks! After I got home I took another look and was thinking of doing just as you suggested: grind down (or cut with a Dremel!) one side. I appreciate the suggestion on the washers. I agree; can't be too safe! Also, thanks for the offer of the stock bolts. If I screw things up, I'll come back to you!

The bolts used for the torque converter to flywheel on the 1950 Super have a rounded off head. The fellow who rebuilt my engine lost these bolts! Is there any reason I should not use regular hex head machine bolts instead? If I need to replace these, any thoughts on where I migh find some? Thanks! -Ken
