  1. The safety belt buckle on the driver's side of my 1988 Reatta won't engage. It appears the button won't fully return to its proper position. If someone has a quick fix or if someone has a replacement buckle, please let me know. The color is the camel, sandlewood, beige or whatever the proper name is.

    Thanks for your help. frown.gif

  2. When I put my foot on the brake, the ABS light will go on for no more than a second and then go off again. It doesn't make any difference what the driving conditions are, whether the pavement is wet or dry. Braking is fine. Is there something I can check, like maybe a fluid or is this a sign that something might be going wrong? If so, what could it be?

  3. Is thre anything on this car that's easy to do? I'm trying to replace the front driver's side turn signal lamp. I raised the headlight and saw two screws and loosened them, hoping it would give access to the bulbs, but nothing moves. I see two sockets that disapper under the flat plate, but see no way of removing the bulbs. Can you tell me exactly how to replace this lamp? And there appears to be two sockets. Are they both for turn signals or just one of them? Which one do I replace since neither appears to be lit. A little extra information, the turn signal stays on, but the rear is blinking properly.

    Thanks.

  4. The cap wasn't frozen and I was able to pry most of the cap away, but did not have the leverage to remove the part locked into the gas tank. So I decided to bite the bullet and go to the Buick dealer and pay through the nose to have it removed by experts. After paying to have it fixed, I go out to my car and find the gas door taped closed. Apparently, the expert mechanics had no idea how to release the door, so they pried it open and broke the latch. It's funny that no one bothered to tell me and I had to find out for myself. They're supposed to fix it tomorrow. They won't admit to breaking it, but it appears they are going to fix it for free. If they give me any trouble, I'll let you know.

  5. I tried to put gas in my car tonight. When I turned the cap, it continued clicking but never opened. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can remove the cap short of taking it in to the Buick dealer to have it removed? Will I need a new cap, or is the problem connected to the part connected to the gas tank?

  6. I have a 1988 Reatta, and when it rains hard, water drips in from the window and onto the power seat controls. Although I have a moonroof, water does not seem to be seeping in through there, and the rubber around the window looks good. Does anybody have a suggestion on where the leak could be coming from?

  7. I've had my car for three months and never tried my brights until now. When I put them on, there was no light at all. I know the lamps are okay because I recently put in a new one, so if there is a simple fix, please let me know so I won't have to bring it in for servicing.

  8. I tried replacing the belt in my cassette and bought four extra ones for no reason other than I didn't want to pay for all that shipping for one belt. If you want one of these belts, I can sell it to you for $4.00 plus the cost of U.S. mail and a padded mailer which I figure will cost $1.00. As far as the small belt, I do not have one.

  9. The service engine light came on once, and when I checked the code, it gave me an error code of E063. When I check the diagnostics, it is referred to as a 'small EGR Fault'. I had the service man clean the EGR valve, but about three weeks later, the same fault returned. If the error is considered small, does it still mean I have to replace the EGR valve, or is it something much simpler and less expensive to fix?

  10. I would avoid using the CRT at all for the radio/cassette/CD, but if power goes to the cassette when you hit play, if I tap into that lead to supply power to the aftermarket unit and rewire the speakers to the aftermarket unit, I think I would be able to bypass the built-in radio altogether. Do you think that would work?
