any of you use www.classicbuicks.com??? i have a leaking torque ball and i'm getting different answers on what parts can be changed from differnet vendors.

I am needing some parts for my 51 super. Can anyone steer me towards an honest parts deals? I am looking for some torque tube repairs stuff thanks

i have a 51 super with a dynaflow. It leaks at the rear of the dynaflow were the torque tube bolts to the tail. If you the car sits up a while all the fluid will leakout within a week. Any idea what is causing the leak ? I'm not real familar with the dyna flow and any help you can send my way is appretiated

I have a 2 door hard top,51 buick for sale. Car runs and drives , but master cylindr is weak and could use a rebuild. I have rebuilt the carb and fuel pump and have put in a new interior. There was some rust in floors , but that has been repaired. The trunk has some rust in the spare tire wheel well. Overall , the car is solid. I am asking $5500.00. i am currently replacing the headliner in my Buick and have run into a problem. the tack strip that runs the length of the "roof" is old and brittle. When you try and nail a tack into tack strip , it crumbles or cracks. Can this stuff be replaced? Is so , were can I get some? is there a suitable replacement that will work? Any help would be welcome ! thanks again

I just removed the door panels off the door of my 51 Riv. and need some help. The "cardboard" backing of the panel is rotted on the edges.I would like to re-lace it but as most people, I have more time than money. I would like to know what would make a good substitute for the backing so I can recover it with vinyl or cloth . any help you send my way would great! Have a safe labor day !

I have a 51'; model 56r , and I need to know how do you get the door panel off without damaging the panel? I know how to get the door handles off and the window crank, but not sure about the panel itself. I'm fixin to redo the interior and could use some help. Thanks FR

i am new to owning old cars and have a question. On the ignition swith there are 3 positions; "off", "ON", :LOCKED". To start the car the switch has to be in the "ON" position . the "start" circuit can be ingaged and the motor will turn over and start. What is the "locked"position for? when the engine is running and you move the key to "lOCKED" , the motor will quit running.is this normal? car is a 51 Buick model 56R, all original except for the paint. It has a straight 8 and Dyna flow transmission. All the lights are in working order including the blinker system. Tha radio works but the clock in the dash does not.The odometer reads 1000(car has 101000 original miles). the body of the car is solid ,but the floors have rust with some holes.Car was repainted by previous owner 5 or 6 years ago(green w/white top). I'm was wondering if any one knows the ball-park value of a 51 super model 56R. it is running and drivable with a dyna flow trans. it is all original but needs needs floor pan repair.the crome has pitts in it and it's been repainted. thanks
