    EBCM

Can anyone tell me if the EBCM for a 1990 Reatta is the same as a 1988? I recently picked one up for my car, but the Dealer is telling me that the one I have is for an '88 and won't work in my '90... I woluld appreciate the input! Thanks, Monica
  6. Hi all... Looking for brake parts for my 1990. Buick dealer says it's part of the booster assembly. It's part #25535707 anti-lock pump and motor. I know I can get it new from GM, but the price is a big ouch! does anyone have one either rebuilt or from a car your parting out.. please either email me @ jacos@execpc.com or post it here. Thanks!!! Monica
  7. I have decided to sell my 1990 Burgundy Reatta. The car has 147,000 miles on it (as of this post). I have been driving it every day for the last 9 years and she is a runner. It does need some things, but overall is in good shape. I am asking $2500 for it, but will accept any reasonable offer. I don't really want to sell it, but with my Husbands acquisition of a '71 GS convertible, room is becoming scarce in the Garage and Driveway. (5 cars now!)Email me at Jacos@execpc.com or call me at 414-614-9069 and I will be happy to give you all the details. Thanks! Monica
  8. as luck would have it no manual, this is gonna be a must!! 4 reattas and it seems everytime something little pukes it s a major hassle...aaah for the simplicities of my '71 buick....well it seems to trigger the code around 45-50 mph,, its very intermittent not on all the time and not on till car is at operating temp. started right after I changed my air filter and oil, though likely unrelated...ALSO I do notice a goofy smell through the vent just prior to it triggering the prompt ...I'll have to do some checking. recently turned over mileage wise , eo26 shows as history as well.. so who knows... I miss my red '89 except for high miles never had a dimes worth of trouble!!! best and thanks, john jaco/monica jaco
  9. hello, a code popped up today on my '89 reatta.. E026 or EO26...zero or "O" is 2nd digit....anyway wondering whats wrong by the code?? thanks monica
  10. A couple questions... First, also about interior lights (probably a simple one)- None of my interior lights are working except the ones in the door handles and the map lights. All bulbs have been replaced, and nothing. Would this be a fuse of is there somthing else I should be looking at? Second... My "Headlights suggested" light comes on when I am quite sure I don't need them yet. Sometimes on a sunny day, I will drive thru a shady area and the light will go on. Is there a sensor that could be dirty which controls this and if so, where is it located? Thanks! Monica
  11. I would like to add to this.... I don't spend as much time as I would like or should on this forum and really post mostly when I am having problems with my car or need advise (i know thats bad of me). Lots of times, I just read and watch what's going on with people who love the same type of car I do. Everyone on this forum has always been nothing but helpful with their suggestions, ideas, etc... I've recieved phone calls and emails from many of you who have helped in so many ways. I consider myself fortunate to be permitted to register and take part in discussions with all of you. Anonymous users are foolish to want to remain outsiders. Thats all...
  12. ok, I'll try to [color:\\"green\\"] make this short as I have a ton of personal/lit info on this car... so with that said this is about as mint a '71 skylark you'll ever find...I bought it in '94 with 39k original miles it currently reads 63k.....its a factory hardtop , and absolutely no rust.. it was bought new in '71 by a retiring school teacher in litchfiled IL. moving to a minnesota lake where it was a grocery getter and never saw a single winter, both owners passed in the late '80's and the car was sent to colorado in '90 to spend its days with a family member, he had the original paint clearcoated over [lime mist]... its never seen a winter with me and the cloth interior is about 90%........nothing mucked with....this car runs, drives, smells new... no mechanical issues... a nice car as is,,, or a WONDERFUL GS DONOR BODY for those so inclined or restoring a rust bucket....everything including the air works...why am I sellin' it...I really dont know, it gets more compliments than my '71 gs convertable.. just not enough room to hang on to both and my wife and I are both reatta freaks so space is limited!!!...I will likely kick myself in the a$$ one day...!!! ..$7500 o.b.o...WISC.. PLEASE email me direct peedenmark7@hotmail.com for pics thanks, john Logged Pages: 1 Reply Notify of replies Send Topic Print

    I kept it!

The Driftwood is now problem free with some minor detail items to fix. I am really enjoying driving it (I do need a new tape deck though). Anyway, Barney go ahead and put her in the database....<BR> Vin # 1G4EC13C8LB904577 now lives in Hartford, Wisconsin.
  16. Now that all my husbands problems are fixed, I need some advice. The '90 Driftwood Reatta, (69,500 miles) I got needs some serious work and I am torn on doing that work or returning the car to the schmuck that sold it to me. I bought the car after several calls to the seller, many, many questions answered and assurance that the car was in great shape. <BR>On an earlier post, I asked for some feedback on Brake issues. I have an anti-lock light permanently on, a very hard brake and brake fluid all over my driveway. Many of you were very informative and for that I thank you. The car has been at the dealer for 1 1/2 weeks and they finally found the problems with the anti-lock light stuck on. It seems that I need a left rear hub bearing assembly and also the pump assembly (pump not working) for these two parts, $1000.00 plus labor. The a brake fluid issue is another story all together. The dealer says that it is coming from somewhere at the back of the master cylinder. If I have to replace the master cylinder, they say the parts are $2000. Without the brakes working properly, the location of the leak cannot be found so it's a crap shoot. I spend the first grand, to possibly find that I need to spend another $2000, OR... The guy who sold it to me will refund the $ and take it back and it could be nothing major with the leak.<P>After all that, as I said earlier, I'm torn,<BR>It's a nice car, I love it!! I'd really like to keep it but I cant help but wonder it I'm opening a can of worms. I need your wisdom and logic here. After all is said and done, with the purchase of it, all the brake work, and other things it needs, I'll be into it for about $10,000 Is it worth it???? HELP!!!<P>monica
  17. Just an update and a lesson to be learned by all who read this board. ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE GUYS ON THIS BOARD!!!! a timing chain, cam sensor and hours of diagonistic work later (not to mention the $693.00 spent) the problem was a $3.50 pcv hose/grommet that goes between the pcv and fuel injection. They only found it after the chain, sensor etc... was in and when the car still wouldn't start, fire came from the location of the pcv. All mechanics that don't know these cars should read this board!!! Thanks for all your help! John
  18. Okay, The car has been at the shop for a few days now. They found no vacuum leaks so Mechanic said it was cam position sensor magnet came off, fell in cover and timing chain was bad. He made all the repairs and it still won't run. He said they are stumped. Do any of you have any other ideas? Thanks to everyone who emailed so far on this problem, I wish I had better news! John
  19. hi guys...problem with reatta just turned 100 k miles... went to dinner tonight.. and getting in and starting it to go home, slight backfire under the hood, slight puff of smoke form under hood ... will not run under about 2k rpms...limped it about 5 miles home.. no codes #'s come up in park or drive... what is this ??? fuel , emission ,spark .related?? heeelp....best john ... peedenmark7@hotmail.com
  20. I am having a problem with my new 1990 Reatta and the brakes. To avoid rambling on for pages and pages, I was wondering if one of you guys who know everything there is to know about the car would be willing to email me your phone number so I could call you with some very specific questions about the Brake system and repairs, etc... I've read all the stuff that is in the data page, but it's not specific enough for me. HELP!!! My email address is Jacos@execpc.com. Thanks!!!<p>[ 07-01-2002: Message edited by: monica ]
  21. I guess I forgot my email address oops...<BR>Jacos@execpc.com. The Tape player had a tape stuck in it. My husband got it out but the player keeps thinking there is still a tape in it and it actually is in play mode. Because of this, of course I cant use the radio because it's stuck in tape mode and everytime I turn on the power button, it goes straight to tape. I will get the info on the repair, Thanks! Sometimes though, it just seems so much easier to just get a new one!
  22. Some of you emailed me asking me to let you when I got the car and how I like it. Where to start...The 1990 Driftwood coupe vin #1G4EC13C8LB904577 arrived at my house Saturday night. Overall, it is a beautiful car, Driftwood/Tan with 69,400 miles. "Excellent interior condition" (the dealers words) is not quite accurate. The interior needs quite a few detail items which will be my first priority. It also needs a tape deck and will be needing a steering wheel eventually (or recover).Exterior is clean, some minor scratches but areas have been repainted due to clear coat flaking. The paint job is nice but there is a run in one place and some overspray can be seen as well. One of my biggest concerns is the Anti-Lock brake light is on and I will need to have that fixed. (The dealer did not disclose that to me before I bought the car). Anyway, if anyone has some of the little parts I need to start, let me know. I'm starting small and working my way up but I intend to get it as close to 100% as possible I just need some stuff!. I need:<P>a tan horn cap left side of steering wheel<P>12 of those clips that attach the carpet to the trunk acces door in the car.<P>A dome light cover<P>A tape deck<P>A turn signal/wiper lever<P>A passenger side door reveal molding<P>I guess I will stop there for now and see where I get. Email me if you have any of these parts. I want to get started! Thanks alot everyone for all your help!<BR>Monica

    Vin#

Thanks everyone for your help.. I have another question. The Dealer says the car does not have the keyless entry remotes... Is this somthing I can get to have programmed or is that an option that I just might not have at all?

    Vin#

I just purchased the Gold Reatta that was on ebay. Am wondering if before I seal the deal if you have the Vin # in you files and if you have any History on it. The # is:<BR>1G4EC13C8LB904577. Thanks... You all have been so helpful to both my husband and myself who post under this name. Monica
