  1. Sorry the piece is the actual dash piece that the ignition switch sits in. It is removable and held in place by a screw and guide pins. In the picture it’s the worn plastic silver/grey looking piece.
  2. Well i can confirm 1969-1970 hinge will not work, mount bolt pattern is not the same. But I will get crafty and find a way to make them work.
  3. Hey, I’m looking for the correct name of this piece? I’m trying to find a new/used one for my 1968 Lesabre but have no idea the correct name. Current on I have is broken in half and the picture posted is of an eBay listing but they cannot remove it from dash without breaking it either.
  4. Ohh that’s all great information! Although the car was not maintained with original equipment I did order a service manual to help with wiring and other body control items.
  5. So I found this curled up in the car I just bought. You guys might appreciate as well. Is everything listed, how the car was built? And does anyone know what the build codes mean in terms of parts etc.
  6. Hah once we get through the -40 spell we have here in northern Canada, I will take some better ones. But this is from the ad I thought it from.
  7. Thank you guys, the links are much appreciated. My kids and I built a 66 gmc together. And now we are building “the Batmobile” as they are calling it. So I will definitely be sending one of them into the trunk to try the latch. The previous owner somewhere along the lines “tubbed” and rounded out the rear wheel wells to fit drag radials so we definitely have our work cut out for us. Overall the car seems healthy and mostly rust free. Has a SBC 350 instead of the Buick. But we are on the hunt for another big block or if we are lucky a buick 350
  8. I am sure this has been talked about many times but I am finding very limited information on it. I recently purchased a 1968 buick lesabre and the front suspension is very tired. So i am looking to change the springs but cannot find anything to replace them with. Next is the trunk, is the only way to get into it by using the key? and next is hood hinge there were not any with the car. Has anyone retrofitted later year hinges that worked? 1965 skylark hinges seem similar but also hard to find. sorry if this has been talked about. I used the search function and have not found anything concrete.
