  1. So i have a bone stock to my knowledge, 1968 buick 430. The car starts up at the turn of a key and runs fenominal until you drive it around for a bit, it acts like its flooding while its driving and starts to hesitate and bog till it inevitably turns off. The car will back fire out the exhaust if you try and start it up again or just wont start. What could be causing this? Another question i have is the instrument cluster was rotted out from water damage, i had one from a 68 riv but it has gauges instead of dummy lights, can i use this cluster??? Also if anyone has hood hinges for a 68 wildcat i would be happy to buy them from you.
  2. I needed to get a gauge cluster for my 68 cat but i was only able to find one for a 68 riviera. I went ahead and bought it but it doesn't seem to work real well. most of the circuit on the back lines up with the old one but it behaves weird with the light switch. When i turn on the headlights the gauge lights turn off and the dimmer switch brightens and lowers the generator light. is there a way i can make this gauge assembly work? Also it seems to run kinda shakey and bogs off the line.
  3. i have already inspected the flex plate and it seems fine, no worn teeth or cracks, its also not loose
  4. i bought a wildcat from a junkyard and found it had a cracked starter, after replacing it the car popped off, after messing with the car more and cranking on it it broke another one, i set the timing to about six but the engine still runs a little rough, i just really don't want to set it to high and break another one, is the timing the reason the starters are breaking, and what should i have my initial set too
