  1. Any advice on where to go to buy a couple of rod end bolts? I'm assuming it's just a dimensional part, see measurements in the pic. It is for my 1924 Cole V-8, but Cole was an assembled car and used a Northway engine. The Cole version of the Northway V-8 was designed and manufactured specifically for Cole, and it was basically the same from 1916 - 1925. But Northway also provided engines to Cadillac and Olds, and I'm assuming that they shared common parts like rod end bolts. Also, this engine was rebuilt in the mid-90's, so the rod end bolts are probably not original, anyhow. Any ideas on who to talk to to figure out what I really need?

  3. Good advice. I've got a carburetor rebuild kit, so I figure I might as well rebuild that while I'm at it.
  4. Started to ask how hard it is to rebuild myself, but I found a new Carter fuel pump for sale on PartsGeek for $38. Seems a bit too good to be true, but we're gonna find out!
  5. Trying to get a M5 running after sitting in a static collection for 15 years. Engine fires with starter fluid. Fuel lines from the tank to the fuel pump have been replaced. After removing the plug on top of the float bowl and squirting some fresh gas into the bowl, the engine will run for about 15 seconds and responds to throttle inputs, before sputtering out. I repeated this procedure 3 or 4 times, trying to draw fuel from the gas tank all the way through fuel system. Since it runs for ~15 seconds and responds to throttle inputs before sputtering out, does that mean that the carb is okay, but the fuel pump isn't working? Does the fuel pump need to be primed somehow? Can I buy a replacement fuel pump or can I rebuild mine myself? Any other trouble shooting ideas?
