  1. It is Canadian built 1946 Pontiac torpedo all original even the paint. It is the 239 flathead six. I bought it with the distributer removed from the block but was in the trunk. It had new point set installed so I am assum8ng it was pulled out to install the points. I slid the distributer into the block fully seated but can turn the shaft by hand with only the resistance of the point follower. Obviously somthing is missing. I'm not finding much info on the drive assembly but one article made reference to a spring clip. I'm hoping to find someone that may have a schematic that I can identify what is missing. Thank you.
  2. Hi. Old Canadian gear head here. I recently purchased a 46 Torpedo and the distributer had been taken out. Didnt think that would be a problem but when installing it discovered i could spin the rotor after it was fully seated in the block. I believe there is something missing as there is no resistance to turning it other than the points follower. If some one has schematics or pictures or parts blow up that would help me alot. The only other pontiac flathead ive owned was a 31 with split head which is of course different
  3. My distributer is not turning. Would appreciate if someone has a parts schematic of distributer and oil pump drive assembly
