Or maybe people should be more considerate.
Before you speak (post or comment) ask yourself if what you are going to say is true, is kind, is necessary, is helpful. If the answer is no, maybe what you are about to say should be left unsaid." - Bernard Meltzer
We agree to disagree

One's humor is another's attack. Example:
"
70's Renault products simply make me cringe! "A 70's Renault fan would very much defend his emotional investment in his preference for that vehicle, and find the statement anything BUT humorous.
Make that same statement in this club and forum and it would NOT go over well:I would say if someone was that thin skinned then perhaps the internet isn’t for them.

Do you know what the difference is between a cactus and a BMW?
The pricks are on the inside ?

This topic makes me nervous as a moderator.
Is it really of any value to bash a make, year or model? (not matter the reason)
I think it’s just meant to be funny since the reasoning isn’t anything but emotional. Hopefully people take it humor and aren’t thin skinned. I daily a BMW so I’m use to an emotional hatred for my car 😊

There aren’t many. But one would be the Citroen 2cv. It’s just horrible. The styling was outdated before the fist one was made. I can put run it. It’s not quirky in a fun French way. It’s just dumb.
did I say I didn’t like it?

That is a great looking car! And likely powered by the Buick designed 3.8 motor? I wish you good luck with it. Feel free to share more about it. And check out the Buick Club of America. Maybe there is a National or Regional meet in the area where you live? Looks like it would be an instant Archival winner.
You are correct. It has the 3.8. Which I found out was standard in ca. It fires right up and really drives nice. Transmission doesn’t slip. It really feels like a time capsule. I added an interior shot

I wanted to get into the classic car hobby but thought baby steps with something inexpensive, reliable and easy to repair was the way to go. This lead me down a road that I’ve always enjoyed for some reason - the malaise personal luxury coupe. Don’t get me wrong. A 66 gto or a 70 big block SS would be killer. But malaise cars were always interesting to me. And certainly more affordable.
my goal was to hopefully to find something a little less common. The big Marks and eldos and Roadmasters are somewhat plentiful. But when was the last time you saw an 86 Lesabre coupe? One year only front end. Clamshell hood. Velour galore and an entire forest of plastic trees harvested for the “wood” trim.
I found this car locally. 94k miles. Bought new by the typical Lesabre buyer back then - an older female. Car was loved and serviced at the dealer. It came with a ton of receipts. It is in really great shape and to me was a fantastic example of what it is. The interior velour is like Kevlar.

Let us know if you find the bezel. It's always heartening
to see fellow hobbyists succeed.
And if they have the right car, and their prices are good,
maybe get a few extra items to set aside.
They appear to have the bezel. I also ordered another part that I think is wrong. But the bezel was the main thing. Once I get it in I’ll post a pic. Hopefully it gets here in one piece

Thank you for putting that list together! I’ll follow up on them

I like the front-end styling of the 1986 LeSabres,
much more than other years of that body style.
I believe that grille was for one year only.
Your car looks excellent, Df824, and is much scarcer
than people realize.
Thank you! I always say to people “when was the last time you saw one”. Especially the coupe. Those you never see.
The grill and quad headlights are one year only. Which is a big reason I bought it. I think it really says “1980s”.

Another place to check is www.car-part.com.
There, participating junkyards list the cars,
or the parts from cars, that they have. You can
enter your car, and the category of part you need.
I think that, if they have such a car listed for any
type of part, that car may have its interior trim intact too.
Thanks. I did search there and put my info in if they ever come up with one. I do have a lead on one. Hopefully that comes through

They were nice looking cars. Is yours a coupe or 4-door sedan?
Can you post a picture or two of it?
Collectors little realize that once-common cars, such as this
LeSabre, are few and far between today. They disappeared
without car fans even noticing. It's easy to find a 1985 Riviera,
or a 1990's Roadmaster wagon, or a Reatta convertible, but
many other models, made in substantial numbers and once
common, are rarely seen today.
Thanks. It’s a coupe. Making it a bit more uncommon. I’m glad you appreciate it

FANTASTIC old cars you dislike for purely emotional reasons?

I loved those. And yes. They were driven usually by d bags back then. But I was a sucker for that sticker performance
