Howdy! I have a 1927 capital Chevy truck. It was my grandpas first motorized vehicle. We have restored it which wasn’t too hard as it was always parked in a shed. We drove it in the town parade and as long as i was in 1st gear, idling no advance it was fine, tried to go faster or in second and it would backfire thru the carb. Have read all the suggestions here and will try changing the plug wires. My question is, is there a newer model carb that we can put on it. It has the RXO. We have advanced the distributor, retarded it (all 1 notch) and seems to start best in original position. We changed it to 12 voltThanks for your feedback!
