  1. I have the car up for sale now that the engine is running well and all mechanicals are road worthy. $12,000.
  2. All - I was able to source a rebuilt head from a 1929 engine and it works well. The only difference was the location of the temperature sensor. @viperman — You will need to take your head to an engine shop and have it pressure tested. Some of the cracks can be nested in the valve channels which are not visible when the head is completely assembled. To do it right, you need to do a complete disassemble of the valve components and have the head pressure tested. It cost me roughly $75.00 at a local engine rebuilder.
  3. Thanks, I agree. And, stitching is impossible below and inside the valve seat chamber. I’ll need to source a good head, but have had no luck on that search.
  4. Recently acquired a 1931 Chevy Independence AE, the head is cracked in every single exhaust valve seat area and is currently being worked on. The Engine rebuilder cut two valve seats for metal inserts, and they machined into the water jacket, the cast head is very thin in that area. So, we are attempting to build up that area via brazing. I believe this will likely not be a successful repair. I’ve had no success in finding a good used head. Any thoughts or ideas?
