  1. Thanks for your help I guess I will Sell this one and go back on the hunt for another generator.
  2. Okay I see mine does mount vertically thanks for all your help and info it looked the same as mine but it’s not oh well back on the generator hunt!
  3. That’s what I thought and mine is a 1927 studebaker commander with the big six but the boot pattern doesn’t line up. Maybe it’s for a special 6 dictator?
  4. I have this Wagner S-509 generator I bought it thinking it would fit my car but it does not does anyone have any idea what this fits? It is supposedly rebuilt and I’m looking to sell it if anyone is interested? With the help of a few people from here we have figured out it fits a 1920 to 1928 studebaker dictator light 6.

  6. I will have to look and see if I see that pipe thanks for the advice and heads-up.
  7. I need some new starter clutch pawl’s for my 1927 studebakerVictoria big six, with chain driven starter. Does anyone have a source of these or a good starter clutch or maybe a fix or ideas ? I tried oiling it and it didn’t change. It still free spins. So I dissembled it and the pawls appear to be worn out and have flat spots on them where they engage. Any help is appreciated thank you. I got some drawings with all the correct measurements now so I can have some made and I have already posted this in technical but I was not aware that there was a specific forum just for studebaker I’m new to this site . So if any of you have any additional advice or information please let me thank you.
  8. So I dug a little deeper this weekend and found more bad news. It seems the generator sprocket has ate up my crankshaft timing gear, Has anyone on here ever changed the crank timing gear is it nearly impossible to come off? Or should I just run it and see what happens? And also does anyone happen to have a crank shaft timing gear and generator shaft sprocket they would be willing to let go of? my parts interchange book says the part # for the crank gear is GH160 and the generator sprocket is KE120 now if that’s correct I don’t know. My car is a late 1927 studebaker commander/Victoria with the big six . And always any help is very appreciated and needed . Thank you Jeremy
  9. I joined the antique studebaker club today thank you for the suggestion. Yes I am planning on replacing the water pump shaft and packing while it’s off as well . I have a generator for it also but I’m not sure it the correct one it’s a Wagner S509? I will have to figure that out when I get all the other done I guess.Again thank you for your time and reply. jeremy

  12. Sure I would be happy to send those to you. do you have an email or phone number you would like me to send it to or just send it here?
  13. Thank you for the information I will have to check that as well i have currently found a print with the proper dimensions for the standard size and oversize and am probably going to get a machine shop to make me some pawls. This car has sat for some time and I’m going at a snails pace trying to see what it may need to get it going again.
  14. I know it’s a long shot it being this post being long ago but does anyone happen to have some starter pawls or just one I can use for a pattern or the correct Dimensions so I can have some made?
  15. I have not tried that yet but its a decent idea and mat be worth a shot just to get it going again thanks for the tip.
  16. I heard they can be made at a machine shop fairly easily but finding one for a pattern or the correct dimensions has been a challenge.
  17. I am not but it would definitely be worth a shot. How do you become a member or get in contact with them?
  18. I am still working on them and trying to find a print for the exact measurements for a machine shop to make them. Or just maybe find someone with at least one for a pattern? I tried to make some myself but it worked temporarily and sometimes wouldn’t release all the way and make a horrible noise. So back to the drawing board, someone else suggested contacting the studebaker museum and asking if they had a print with the correct Dimensions.
